Vallhund. I really loved how it came out and was touched by the gift. It's actually a scene taken from something I was writing a few months ago if I recall.
The basis being that Deam's patent for graduating from an academy was a Mind Link. A piece of spellcraft that allowed two beings mind-to-mind communication, not requiring them to be magical or have taken telepathy classes. Max's patent would not be for another year.
