When I first started posting my Avians a few years ago (on my other, compromised page :P), one character I briefly mentioned was supposed to be a different size from the others. I figured I should show the actual comparision now.

Sea Vixen can be considered the point of reference. Standing at around 6'2", she is averaged sized for most Avians, male and female alike. There are a few that are slightly taller (like Astrid, at 6'4"), and shorter (like Shoudou, at 5'10"), but most are similar to her.

There are two notable exceptions to this rule.

On the one end of the scale is the massive Akilina, the largest Avian and aptly modelled on the largest combat aircraft, the Tupolev Tu-160. Despite her towering size and power, Akilina is considered a gentle giant, rarely using her size to intimidate unless she is given no other choice. Some are still intimidated by her size, most notably males she might have an interest in. She strives to be a normal citizen in Avian society, and is friendly and intelligent. She views her two biggests problems as having to watch her head while walking in buildings (she sometimes assumed a posture like Kali so she doesn't have to hunch over all the time), and her love life, or a lack thereof.

At the other end of the scale is the petite Senja, currently the smallest Avian. Like Akilina, Senja is modelled on a fitting aircraft, in her case the Finnish version of the Folland Gnat, one of the smallest combat aircraft to see service. Despite her small size, Senja nearly as powerful and capable as averaged sized Avians. Her size is a mixed blessing, as she can be complimented on her younthful apperence, or annoyed when it is assumed she is too young, despite being older than Sea Vixen (Senja remarks that she is 2 years older physically and 10 years older in maturity compared to Sea Vixen).
