Here's a little something I've been working on - it's an in-world email conversation system, from the 'modern' era of Amadeus' Earth.
Alternate PDF version
A couple of the military researchers working on a rather secret project discussing bringing him in on it, and a copy of the documentation they gave him in preparation.
The ADNSS chassis has changed a lot since I started writing that, actually. It's doubled in height, for one thing, and a lot of the stuff that makes it a lot less... iron-man... have been added. Like the fact that it has feet for knees.
It similar to the Dreadnoughts from Warhammer 40K, and they are actually an in-universe inspiration.
While the Adonis Alpha chassis didn't last terribly long, its 'pilot' survived and was eventually given a new body, much more suited to his old organic form. Adonis Prime would survive even into Erasmus' time, while the Tall-Man chassis would also live again, given a new AI control system and a very different set of advanced weaponry after Boston Dynamics was bought by Amadeus, and eventually folded into the Sol Corporation.
Oh, and another thing - the size of the TTD, and hence the 24-hour operating window on the ADNSS-01 chassis, are entirely artificial. they're designed to make it unable to run away. Amadeus offers them a Phoenix reactor, and correctly spots that a TTD could be shrunk down (they're eventually briefcase sized).
