So I resumed my flight training this week. 60 hours fixed, 50 of it at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University paid off... back in the saddle and soaring, I'm quite happy. :3 An hour with my new instructor and he let me loose to solo in the pattern for a 1/2 hour. Not bad for going without flight training for 6 years! I can't wait to finish, with a little luck I'll finish up my private license by early summer.
First flight in a Cessna 152 to boot, all of the other was in a 172. Propeller has a neat visual effect in the camera!

Yeah, the taxi & landing along with the threat of a ground roll spooks me.
I've flown probably 10+ different 172's, all but one have had the high power conversion, all of those at ERAU that were also fuel injected. Flying @ 5000' they need that extra umph to get airborne. The low level times I've flown 172's they were extremely powerful for their size, probably not to the extent of your Cub depending on the engine. The 172 is even more docile than the 152 in most situations if you can believe that, the little flying tractor :D
One more aircraft of mention was the AT-6 Texan I got an hour flight at the front seat in years back.... now that's an airplane.

Eh, don't let your fears keep you from enjoying the Cub experience. It's like no other.
That's right, Embry-Riddle is pretty high up there. I'd like to get my hands on one of those high-power 172s you're talking about, that's for sure... and a Texan? Now I'm really jealous.
