Alright so I decided before I finished this picture I'd at least do this much. Well this is my "process".
1. Sketch the idea. What you see is what you get. I do a rough sketch and put it into place.
2. Re-fine. I resketch and fix the rough edges. I usually only have to do one of these but sometimes two.
3. Expand and Define. Re-fine and Defining are completely different. Refining works well for my sketches, but giving my image definition is how I look out it when I line my sketch. For this I used 1 pt size brush and lined thinly. It gave my image clean lines. I also made my canvas double the size of my original sketch. Which started on a 500x500 canvas that got cropped to 400x400 and then sized up to 800x800 something. lol. So doubled.
4. Rainbows!!!! XD No but close. I throw my flat colors into place. Making sure they are as close to exact as I can get. With my own character it's quite easy to do this. Because if I screw up I can claim I'm experimenting with my own design. lol. But if I shade this then process 5 would be shading. c:
So this is the image, start to finish. Or mostly at least. c: Hope you enjoy~

The lined work turned out really good. But it wouldn't have been near the quality without the double sizing. Which was a paaaain to line. XD
But I'll admit it did impress me. I think it's funny to see how much more alive it feels from the linework to the colored work. c:

I bet a colored background would help. The dark colored fur and the white background are harshly contrasted, so it makes the lines and dark fur blend together to the eye. A slightly darker background and suddenly those lines pop right back up
(I used to do white background all the time, it's a lesson I learned the hard way.)
