haha thanks. i lay down a cool grey 0 copic so that i'd have a little more contrast when i went over it with the white gel pen for fur details.

Neat...I can never get my white gel pen to be very smooth, it's always broken lines and false starts. *laughs*

that depends largely on the brand. the best brand i've found is gelly roll :o

I think I picked up some Pentel ones...because they were by the art markers. I'll have to give the Gelly Roll ones a shot sometime. Thanks!

yeah scout around for gelly roll. i've tried a lot of white gel pens and they're by far and away the best. a lot of gel pen brands you can't even see the white until after it dries, and that's dumb. how do you know if you got a line where you wanted it to be?!

the best ones also have a sort of shiny white cap to them, not the matte white.

Cool...I know Michaels has a lot of those sold separate by the scrapbook materials. I'll have to hunt around the next time I'm there.

yeah, that's where they are i think. it drives me up a wall that the microns are in scrapbooking. BITCH THOSE ARE ART PENS GET THEM BY THE ART PENS

and they're GOUGING you on prices for them at michaels to boot. it's like AUGH MY WALLET FOR THREE SIZED PENS I WON'T USE

Yeah...I use the Faber-Castell PITT artist pens--it's nice they now sell individual pens, ALL EXCEPT THE MEDIUM TIP pen, which I use to ink my chibis. *sigh* As a result, I buy so many packs and have a billion Small tips, which I rarely use...

never tried those. microns are really the only thing i've found that stand to both alcohol based marker ink and water from watercolours. :B

The Faber-Castells stand up great with Copics and Prismas, watercolor I don't know. They're pure black Indian ink, so that's what I like about them...the brush tip is also really nice to use for feathering and hair.

do they come in any colours other than black? that's the other reason why microns are useful for me.

They have a Sepia tone set, for certain. And once I managed to find a primary color set...red, blue, green, etc.--though that set was a lucky find and I haven't seen it since. Like I also recently found new brush-tip sizes...and haven't seen that package since either. But sometimes other places may have them where we don't around here...like a Blick art supply or real art supply store (not Michaels or Hobby Lobby).
