it's only in here as a full-fledged submission because this is ABOUT what his markings will be.

i used a way too dark orange to do fur accents on his tummy and eyes- the overall color should be about the insides of his ears.

i decided that i like the bright yellow in contrast to the kinda orangey, so i'll do that instead of the all-around-yellow that i'd planned on doing.

the blue on the ears is also the color of the spines on his back and their fur highlights, and it's supposed to be metallic, technically.

but i like how this came out, considering all my limitations and the practice-ey-ness of it.

what you don't see here, at all: the yellow/orange/teal tufts on his elbows and ankles (digitigrade)
hiw WINGS. whichi'll need to get a good color ref for. . .
and um . . . his spines.
and the fact that the yellow-orange on his underside follows through to his tial, going fomr yellow orange to bright red, towards the tip

I used tombow markers and white crayola pencil for white highlights- until i have a full range of colors i might work using mixed media more often. it's useful.
