"...as the sun set once more, she glanced out towards the ocean, a faint smile crossing her lips as she firmly clutched the necklace in her hand, its pointed edges leaving a red imprint against the palm of her hand. No matter how hard she tried, she always found herself wearing that necklace, but now she wondered why it meant so much to her- damn him for being so kind to her.
The tide was starting to ebb and she knew it was time to go yet she found herself rooted to the towel, unable to move. "I don't know why I feel this way..." With a sigh, she idly traced a finger through the sand, her own mind curious to see what would form. She didn't know what she was doing anymore or what she wanted- not that she really cared at this point.
She had been depressed before, but it had been ages since she had felt this bad. She was usually able to shrug it off when she felt this way but this time was different. It was as if she was locked in an internal battle and could slowly feel herself withdrawing from everyone and everything she once cared about- or was it the other way around...? Did it even matter at this point? She held the necklace up and gazed at it once more, the waning light of the sun catching the tigereye stone, offering a shaky reflection, somewhat obscured against the towel. "Hmm, I see..."
Standing up, she brushed the sand off herself and started to walk off, stealing one final glance at the ocean as it seemed to crawl farther away from her and towards the sun."
Just a little vent, or rather brooding art I requested a few weeks back when I was feeling down (yes, I'm feeling much better now, thank you to all my friends that were concerned during that period).
I'm very pleased with how this turned out, mostly because for once the viewer gets to see the other side of Whisper: not the happy, cuddly, playful one but the REAL me; a girl that has the capacity to be hurt, moody, grumpy and just flat out depressed for whatever reason. But that's okay because no one ever said furries have to be happy all the time...right? And yes, there is a bit of symbolism to this piece, which anyone that can pick it up? kudos to you

Wow, thanks so much for the compliment!
I've been trying to write a bit and I figured this piece was a good excuse to throw some out there without boring everyone to death since let's face it, not many people on here care for writing compared to art (unless there's smut or drama involved, lol)
