Damn, this reminds me of a big game I went to. Our team started in a heavily wooded area and the enemies started the same distance from the small concrete village in the center but with flat clear ground with rows of pine trees. So we were crawling throught the woods only to be met with heavy macine gun fire from the already well dug in enemy force. It was tourture since our comander was incompetent and had eveyone charge as they reached the line instead if massing a force in a spearhead line breaching attack. I eventually was pulled from a flanking mission and placed as commander, I then took about a half an hour and did more than the old CO had done in two. I got us out of that God forsaken wood and into that village, we swept through with amazing spead until the half way mark where enemy forces made their last stand for the village. Snipers, riflemen, machine gunners and all were trying to push us out. The unfortunate thing is I did not have a chance to see our glorious and crushing victory over our opponents because my gun died as a small team breached our lines and made a rush for me and my radiomen, I got off one round before it jammed and burned out. The three man team lit me up for bein to good of a commander and also dogging bullets for the entire 45 minutes that I was active commander not receiving a single hit. As I limped off the field through the combat zone I was regarded by everyone on the field some nodded, some saluted, some just stared, the most amazing thing I ever have seen though was the fact the fight seemed to stop until I had passed. After I was gone, the leaderless team was pushed back to the edge of the town before they used all their reserves to push back in and through sending the enemy on the run back to the woods on the opposite side of the field. It had to have been the most epic game I have ever played.
