Here's another full page gag I'd drawn for the "Dallas Brawl Update" over ten years ago...
Around the time I'd rendered this four-panel comic, I was working as a 'bag boy' at a Publix Supermarket in Coral Springs, FL. (It's the only occupation I know in which you could be in your 70s, and still be called 'boy'. How old do you have to be before you become a 'bag man'?) My ambition was to become a cashier; a goal I was unable to achieve.
So, I did the next best thing and drew my bobcat 'fursona' as a cashier, with 'Beatrice Kanga' as one of his customers...
FOOTNOTE #1: The punchline in the final panel was a toss-up between frozen foods or a pineapple. The latter seemed more painful, so I'd opted for the former.
FOOTNOTE #2: Note the bottle of 'Bloat Cola' in the fourth panel. This was a product I'd originally made up as a competitor for Jolt Cola, but used it more for 'furry inflation' gags in "DBU". It eventually became a vital prop in my story "Eric's Vintage Bloat" - which you can read (and see my accompanying illustrations, too) in "Alden's Story Locker".

Yeah. Keep in mind, this comic was drawn a decade ago when groceries WERE much cheaper! All the more reason now to clip those coupons you get with your Sunday newspaper. (Lately, I've been getting free Soyjoy bars with special coupons; last year, I got several free packets of Spam Singles with coupons.)
