This is the bare art for the promotional image I just finished for Central Plains Furry Convention, their theme being 'The Wizard of Pawz'
This is a young con that's looking to be having a great start, if the motivation of the staff I've worked with is any indication! Check out the website here: https://sites.google.com/site/cpfurcon/home
And if you possibly can, y'all should come!

Well, this IS a 'flying monkey' we're talking about, but I'll humor you. . . .

That is actually the exact picture I reffed for this guy's wing. I like how alarmed the owl looks :D

Drakar's right, the feathers on your monkey's wing are layered incorrectly. The underside of a bird's wing shows the first primary on top and the flight feathers overlap each other in that order--just like that owl photo shows. Even the fluffy feathers in the wing arm follow this order. Nambroth has a good tutorial on wings here: http://nambroth.deviantart.com/art/.....Wings-96309379
I will whole-heartedly admit I did not give one single crap about how the feathers overlap, or in which order. I reffed for the wing's basic structure, looked at how the feathers were laid out in groups, and made sure those groupings looked about right. Not an ornithologist, or even a bird enthusiast. . . unless you count chickens, and mine never really bother to open their wings. I appreciate the link to the tutorial, all the same. They day I attempt to draw a zoologically accurate bird and not a flying monkey, I'll use it.
