Yay :D I certainly enjoyed FF9. I love FF7 too, though moogles played a weird role in that game. My favorite of all the FF's has been FF6. It is very emotional and has awesome music. And Mog will join your party and become a regular playable character who will fight with you :) Or he can, he's an optional character to get. His special move is a dance :D
I have FF5 on the playstation. Played only a little bit of it. I've never really been able to comment on it XD FF6 was my first FF based on raving reviews for a class mate in middle school who demanded I play it immediately so he let me borrow his copy of it. (FF3 US for the SNES). I was blown away by it so bought it myself after beating it on his copy.
Awww, poor FF5. xD Yeah, I have some friends that praise how awesome 6 is. I'm kind of surprised I haven't tried it out yet. xD; I was like your friend when it came to Chrono Cross or Trigger, haha. I'm still getting friends to try out Cross if they hadn't played it yet. c:
Chrono Trigger and Cross are cool :D Well, actually, I have Cross but only played a little bit into it lol. Played Trigger many times. Love it. I love Xenogears too, so emotional.
Speaking of Chrono Trigger though...

I haven't been to any FF concerts, but I do have the cd of about every FF concert ever done lol. I've wanted to go to one D: I do however take advantage of video games live when they come around. And I went the Zelda Symphony of the Goddess last year which was cool.
I really love the concert 'Final Fantasy Voices' that they made a DVD out of. FF6 has an opera scene that they've been doing in these concerts, sounds amazing done live over the snes sounds it was done with originally :D
Legend of Mana, or rather Secret of Mana was also done by the people who did that Chrono arrangement, if you didn't see it in the list of links on the right:

Also Kingdom Hearts:

And of course a giant Final Fantasy medley :

That's still pretty cool. I've never been to one of those concerts, though. I wanted to go to the Zelda Symphony but chose Halloween Horror Nights with Walking Dead and Silent Hill instead. xD; I'll go to one next time though!
The FF6 opera scene sounds so awesome. c:
Man, you're making me want to play everything now. <3 Those are so beautiful. I've been listening to those back to back for a while now, haha.

XD I am glad you like! And I forgot the encore of that concert:

Encore is a boss theme medley from all 4 games.
I love the FF6 opera, the opera scene in the game is also just so much love <3 If you like the music from chrono trigger you'd also appreciate FF6's music. FF6 also has my favorite music of the FF games. Lol. It sounds like chrono trigger, and actually chrono trigger uses some of the same sound effects from FF6. Exact same sound effects.
I think Symphonic fantasies is my favorite game concert, and it never happened in the US so I never been to it live. lol. But they did such a good job with all the arrangements. I absolutely love orchestral music, particular of music that has context behind it, thus video game music. And some movie soundtracks. I've listened to Symphonic Fantasies on repeat for entire days before lol. Hard getting sick of 17 minute long songs that don't repeat themselves :D

That gave me chills listening to it. o.o
I'll listen to some songs in a bit. Thank you so much for getting me into wanting to play FF6 now. :D
The way that Symphonic Fantasies merge together so many songs so fluidly is amazing. Some people just can't make it work, but they do and it's so beautiful. I actually teared up around the end while listening to the Chrono Cross/Trigger version. Ah... so amazing. <3
To you listen to any fanmade songs?
This one is by KatetheGreat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmbgCBZ86z4
The video looks super old, but the lyrics are lovely. She did some other songs for FF games, but this one is my favorite.

Oh, also on the topic of great game music, the last one I was recently introduced to was nominated for a gramy award this year, and it won all sorts of other awards. But the PS3 game Journey. One of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, quite emotional. The game story is told through visuals and music, there is no spoken audio, nor is there written text in the game. If you haven't played that, and have the means, I highly recommend it :D
Here's the music:

I was introduced to this game from video games live this year. Hadn't heard of it before, then they played a song and was quite blown away.

I'm glad you like it! And sorry it took a while to reply~ I listened to the piano song and some of the tracks from Journey (on my phone and it was being a jerk with loading all of it >:C) but I liked what I was able to listen to! I've seen a trailer or two for Journey. I definitely want to play that game.
Yay :D Journey only takes like an hour and a half to play all the way through, meant to played in a single sitting. Everyone who has been coming to my house the past month I have been making play through it themselves. It has made everyone cry, it can do that lol. For it being so short (and also rather easy and stress-free to play through) it has become one of my favorite games ever. The first non-RPG to interest me so much and be so moving. The final few songs of Journey's soundtrack make me quite teary eyed just hearing them without the game. Although I recommend playing the game first so as you have the context behind it :D
That's such a short game... I'll have time to beat it! Haha. Thank you so much for all the songs and game suggestions! After I get back from work today I'll get the game and try it out. c: Oh! Your moogle is being sent today. I finished both of them Sunday but wasn't able to send until today.
Yay :D :D That was pretty quick! I looks forward to it!
And you are welcome :D Yeah, Journey is super short for a game. Only costs $15 though, less than the cost of a bluray movie usually. Journey is more like a movie in itself than a game. Like an interactive movie. Best enjoyed at a time where there's no distractions :)
