I played around with morphtargets to create a little variety of expressions for Verall.
He is mute (though not by design), but can speak with his voice synthesizing collar, which transforms the activity of the vocal cord nerves into speech.
I picture him as an athlete, produced for sport competitions.

Everyone ( rightfully) lives the facial expressions and the markings, but I think attention should be drawn to just how well the outfit compliments this individual. The sleek, honeycomb patterns of the textile reinforce the synthetic nature of this cute little guy, reminiscent of a Tron theme, a la Tron: Legacy. The accent of the digital eartag also lends to the previous statement. A sleek, minimalist outfit to match the toned, efficient design of the wearer itself (himself? Do synthetic entities such as this one deserve/need a gender specific pronoun?).
Having said that, as a personal observation of preferences and unwarranted opinion, I personally think some sort of patterning in the eyes, or perhaps some sort of subtle glow, would not be too over-the-top, for this character. When I say a pattern, I particularly imagine a few concentric circles or designs that would be reminiscent of a camera or sensor.
Either way, this is a lovely piece of artwork. I look forward to seeing more artwork from this world.

Yes, it can vary a lot. Though, generally Animats are seen as second class lifeforms. But some humans treat them well, even though they are a minority. Lifespan is something I have to work on defining. Currently I toy round with a limitation of a given amount of heartbeats.
