In this pic, Marshall Law is the bigger pony, and Chrystal Ball is the smaller one. These three pics really embodied the characterization of the three relationships. Mai and Jack play around and prank each other; Dew Drop and Jane are passive and excitable, respectively; and Marshall is Chrystal's protector and soldier.
Marshall ended up having a somewhat feminine face. The original sketch, he looked very womanly for some reason. In this one, he still kinda looks womanly, but I like it for the character. I imagine him as a little bit of a pretty boy. Not a narcissist, but most woman like him and he knows it.
This is also the first time Marshall, and Iwigu's characters by extension, have been drawn with bronze as their secondary color. I really like it. Tell me what you thinking.

hooray! :) Hahah Im glad you found the femininity that I couldn't escape entirely able to work for these two. After you had pointed it out in the first sketch, it made me want to do a series on the males of Equestria to practice my males! I think I will do that once all of these commissions are done :)
It seems there are some variations to the males. The Big Macintosh types have larger, rectangular heads. Black Jack is usually based on that. The Shining Armor types seem to have more femine heads, with longer snouts. Marshall has that sort of head. And like I said, I think it really works for him. But then, women like Zecora have some masculine designs a larger forehead. The show does have delightful variation.
