Winry is the second child to Mr. and Mrs. O'Ducky who initially didn't want to have another kid after Yosh was born. However, happy accidents happen. :)

When Mrs. O'Ducky laid Winry's egg, it was the same size as Yosh who, at the time, was 2.5 years old!

When Winry hatched, she took on more of her father's duck-like appearance. However, she is only capable of very limited flight and is not a very good swimmer.

At birth, Winry was approximately the same size as Yosh, who was nearly 3 when she hatched. She also was born strong and has no problem in toppling her brother.

Where Yosh is NOT able to gulp and lay eggs, Winry can! She also, unlike Yosh, was blessed with the long, Yoshi tongue in which she largely uses to explore her world while picking on her older brother.

Where Yosh is largely scaly, like his mother, Winry is feathery like her father.

Winry idolizes Nishi and sees him more as a brother at times than Yosh. The reason being that Nishi and Winry's colors nearly match and both have the Yoshi tongue, nose, and ability to lay eggs where Yosh lacks in all these areas.

As you'd expect, with Winry being a poor swimmer, Yosh is an awesome swimmer and is quite talented at speeding across ponds or even walking on water using his flutter ability.

Yosh often has to bring his sister down when her flying gets too dangerous. This often results in a squished Yosh and a giggly Winry.

Winry, due to her size and Nishi influences, is a tomboy who proudly puts herself out in the public by participating in sports and making friends. This is contrary to Yosh who is very bashful and a bit socially awkward.

Winry does not need glasses where her brother does

Unlike Yosh, who has a real tough time ever getting out of diapers, Winry potty trains very well. This also means diapers are far from anything she is interested in while another aspect from her youth becomes her personal fascination...

Winry is VERY competitive and delights in showing up guys who think they're better than girls. This particular applies later in life to her on-and-off boyfriend, Flynn Hoot.

Winry later grows to want to help her brother be less shy and not feel so socially awkward due to how he is a hybrid like she is. Often, Winry makes a special effort to stick up for Yosh to ensure her brother keeps confident and not down on himself for all the teasing he often gets for being so small and different.

Although she can be quite intense, Winry does have the best of intentions and never purposely does anything to hurt anybody's feelings. That is, unless the individual in question did something mean to her friends or, especially, her brother. Then she can be quite the fierce ducky-dino to deal with.

Winry is exposed quite a bit to Nishi's shenanigans with her bashful brother. This makes her a very open-minded, young lady who develops an interest in voyeurism.

Overall, Winry is a wonderful, young lady who is proud to be who she is. Even though she doesn't grow taller than Yosh by adulthood, she is perfectly proud of who she is, what she can do, and eager to prove hybrids are just as capable of being awesome and accepted as anyone else.
