'RoadHammer One'
Hey y'all,
Part of the BG stuff from an RP.
A heavily modified heavy carry-all, the 'Hammer was designed and built by Case Mason, the head mechanic and owner/operator of the Convoy Yard at the SouthWestern Safe Zone Supply/Equipment/Maintenance Depot Zero-Two, also known as Depot Deuce, or just Deuce.
The RoadHammer is the command/Control/Communication vehicle for the Convoy Security vehicles that protect the freight-haulers, on Route 07, between Deuce and the Scapes Bluff Outpost.
The 'Hammer has a Browning 20mm cannon on a heavy pintle-mount, with a coaxial searchlight, as well as four side barbettes, each mounting one M-240 GPMG. There are also three gunports per side, and two at the rear. There are floodlights mounted, giving a 360 degree lit area.
The truck has an 1100 horsepower turbo-diesel engine, solid rubber tires, a trainable rooftop searchlight, and a second top hatch.
Just a tech pencil and ruler sketch, to 'see' what this PostWar jury-rigged and jackassed AV looked like...

Hey, mine was purpose built to do *one* thing, lol. It's not multi-purpose, multi-task, amphibious, air-droppable, or anything else, lol.
It's an armored truck, built after WWIII, to be a CCC/gun platform, for convoys that run on roads.

Heh, this I remember really well. I had a ton of questions about the vehicle and still I feel odd when looking it. It just doesn't fit in my view of warfare. It's not light, not heavy, not unarmored, not armored, but something between. It's just built in a world with very different requirements. And the concept is very good after you explained how this vehicle is supposed to be used.
I just realized something. You can swap that puny 20mm weapon for one of these;

It fits onto any M2BH/Mk.19 mount, and has no more recoil than an M2HB --- while firing the same ammo as the AH-64 Apache's M230! The gun on this vehicle fires the same ammo (though I wouldn't recommend the vehicle itself XD);

Huh, neat; reminds me of the HAVw A5 'Juggernaut' and its successor, the HAVw A6 (also nick-/codenamed 'Juggernaut',) from the Star Wars universe. That's probably just my familiarity with that other franchise talking, though, as, judging from its mentions in what I've read of PostWar so far and discussions in the comments here, the RoadHammer 1 isn't [i][nearly/i] as heavily armored (or even as big, either.)
