Zalophus californianus is a coastal sea lion of the northern Pacific Ocean. They're very intelligent and able to adapt to man-made environments. Even the adult males can be easily trained, and they are used for entertainment in circuses, zoos and marine parks.
They feed on a variety of seafood, mainly squid and fish. They either eat alone or in small to large groups, depending on the available food, and will cooperate with other animals when hunting large schools of fish. California sea lions breed around May to June, and will increase their chances of breeding by staying on the rookery for as long as possible. They'll fast during thi time, and have to get their energy from fat stores. As a result, the bigger males with more blubber can wait longer.
This guy seems to think he's part osprey.
