So yeah, God supposedly guides us to do the right things, and apparently fails a lot of times. That whole "free will" thing, I suppose, but just how much control does He feel like giving? However much control we want to think He's giving us.
Christian-friendly version here.
I'm definitely getting ITTMI's model down more solidly. The markings are how I want them, the shape has been steady the past few pictures. After fixing my last image, "Good night coon", I now have two ITTMIs that look the same(excluding the text-less version of this pic)! I also now have 3 with the same markings. I feel good about this design.

I feel really bad right now. It's not because I disagree with what you say, it's because how you said it makes me want to belittle you for the sake of making you upset.
This looks like a deliberate attack on my beliefs, but that isn't why I'm upset. I'm upset because you clearly haven't been educated on the subject, and felt like opening a can of worms you yourself aren't even familiar with.
God doesn't fail in guiding you. If there really is a "big picture" I don't see how we, as a tiny speck in it, could ever say He fails at guiding us. If I do something God doesn't like that really isn't His problem—it's mine. He's only letting me do "wrong" because giving me a choice is the only way I could choose to obey Him.
Just curious, without trying to be crass or anything, what do you find so hard to believe about that?
Post Script: I like the logo.

The main point, really, was my viewing God as an imaginary friend, and I wanted practice drawing my character. Oh, and my fursona's trying to disguise himself as a Christian and completely failing as his/my true beliefs show through. Hmm, maybe a change of title to highlight the failed masquerade would be better. I think the old title, "Trying to act Christian here..." doesn't really drive the "fail" joke home enough.
On the "guiding" point: Assuming there is a God as Christians define Him, I think it's unclear how much control He wants for himself, and how much He lets our free will take over, plus WHY He chooses the specific ratio. To me, things that my mom thanks God for controlling to help her, like traffic lights turning green, are controlled by other things or people. She thanks God for a green light, when we got 5 red lights on the way, which are all automatically controlled by a computer somewhere.
I try to be as non-offensive as I can, which is why I included an honest-to-goodness alternate, but this particular view is really hard to convey non-offensively because it's so opposite from Christians' views. I know, I could just not say it, but I feel like saying it anyway. I do consider Christians to be good people, as long as they don't take it too far and start a version of the Crusades, and you have a right to your beliefs. These just happen to be my beliefs.

Cool. As you can see, I'm not here to attack how you feel.
I'll at least clear up some confusion and say that there isn't an abstract ratio of God being in control to you being in control. You can do whatever you want, but you can also ask God what He wants you to want. If you don't do what He wants, it's okay, because you're the one that missed out, not Him—He'll just get someone else to do what He wants.
In that way, He's got more control than you. He has plans for that preacher in that church down the road from you. If you killed the preacher (and nothing is really holding you back) he'll use that to His glory.
Did you need that clarified any more?

I can't resist commenting on this either XP. I'd have to agree with the imaginary friend idea; other imaginary friends make people appear somewhat insane or delusional, but enough people have the imaginary friend of God to make it socially acceptable. They all claim to know what God wants from them when it's convenient and then when something utterly absurd happens (in this context, such as children dying before they are even born) it's time for "God works in mysterious ways." Ah what a classic line. Nothing could be closer to bullshit than this. Oh and don't worry about offending people, it's going to happen no matter what you do anyway so just say what you think. If people can go around saying God talks to them and even go so far as to tell you and others what God wants from THEM as well (with a straight face) then you can jolly well say that it's a load of old toss.
Sometimes, if something bad happens, people throw the blame on Satan. He's the longest-running villain in history("I'll git you next time, God!"*pets three-headed dog*). If he exists, I wonder if he might have changed his ways by now. Nope, nobody ever considers that. Satan has had a long time to change his political stance at least a million times already. According to lore, Satan started out as a good guy!
I can agree with those feelings as I grew up in a religious household and came to a similar sarcastic conclusion about the rationality of religion, and turned atheist. My boyfriend grew up religious household and he still is religious. So we're a Christian and an Atheist together.. and gay too.. an odd couple of sorts.
I respect the social aspects of religion. But, it seems strange to be apart of something that brings people close together by perceiving rejection from the world, and jarring still is the fact that logic has no grounds in religious discourse. I personally stopped going to church.

This is the belief of all Christians who embrace the old testament god over jesus Christ. This means most Christians in the world.

Thought you'd find this funny... but show that the Pope is better than all other Christians. Francis is revolutionary, and most Christians hate him for demanding they abandon hatred and hoarding, and embrace tolerance and charity.
