I love the detail you put into these!
There's something about the shading and shine in his hair that makes it look more like cascading water or ink than anything else. I don't know if that was intentional or just part of the experiment, but it helps in a strange way to add to his magic qualities. Considering that his ruff doesn't have the same kind of quality, it helps to add to his unreal image, as though his hair were flame, but in a much subtler way.

Whoa.. is this... the same artist? I mean that as a compliment! This image is so three-dimensional, there is an excellent feeling of depth, and the details...wh-whoa!

Also, his wand reminds me of Glinda's wand in the new Oz movie. x3 Just a bit. :3c

Really liking this. Lesser's ornaments and clothing (and hair!) look truly luxurious, and the umbers (Because they're too big to be umberlings?) are an excellent reminder of his nature and the power he brings forth.

Wow, experimenting indeed! Dare I say, despite the magical motif and energy, that this looks more realistic? Not that your usual style isn't realistic, but this seems to take things a step farther.
