Reminds me somehow of a French animated short. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0yC2ldpBFI
There's so much going on in this image under the surface. I love how you used the yarn as a guide to the eye! My eyes went to her face, then to his, then followed the yarn back to her face, and then down to the knitting.
I love your way of depicting quiet, calm satisfaction with the downcast eyes and suggestion of a smile.
The part that keeps drawing my eye back over and over again is the masked man's eye. Is that look one of dull loathing, or gentle affection? Is there a conflict between his helping hand supporting the yarn, and the gaze of his eyes on her? Is the bowtie and pleasantly nebbish, inoffensive clothing he wears part of who he is, or part of the disguise of the mask?
Am I reading entirely too much into all of this? Probably. But that's why I love your work. Questions are always more interesting than answers. n_n

Wow I love this image! The idea is so lovely! Though, I habe to say that she is holding the needles wrong. She would instantly lose her work if she did so. Hmmm... How to explain it? I would suggest that you search for a stockinett knitting tutorial on youtube, to see what I mean! It's hard to explain. XD though it might not be important since the image has a symbolic meaning. I really love it, don't get me wrong! :) I'm a knitter myself and I know how hard it is to draw someone knitting... Oo
Now there's a sly smile. I like her!
Self-reliant and warding red string, to linking red thread, to a harmonious knitting-together. You'll love what I make of it.
