So... The reason I haven't made progress on regular commissions and the Tarot cards lately (aside from a sewer backup that ate several days and was thoroughly unpleasant) was this commission has kind of been eating my brain. c.c;; I don't draw vehicles, like, ever, so this was a HUGE step outside my normal comfort zone. And holy crap, it's a recognizable train! o_O Believe me, I'm as surprised as anybody.
I shall be back to the other stuff I'm supposed to be working on tomorrow. =D

Good heavens, that is a bit outside the standard I was aware of for you. Pretty darn awesome, however! Used to have tracks that ran right by the garage of the house I lived in, and I remember watching the trains go by and wondering just how they kept all the horses behind those vents for the exhaust. What, I was 5 at the time. :) Your image here reminds me of those moments of whimsicality. :)
This is really the first vehicle I've tried to draw in a long time, and I wanted it to come out well, so I spent a lot of time studying reference images. I think I still got a lot out of place or off scale, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out anyway. =) Glad you like it!
Yeah, I deleted my stuff off DA years ago because I didn't like some of their policy changes, and most of the traffic I got was kids or trolls, so it didn't seem worth the time to upload. I don't foresee myself adding 'train commissions' to my list specifically, but I don't think I'd be opposed to trying to draw more of them, with enough refs. This sort of work definitely falls into the $100-$150 painting category, minimum, though. c.c Getting it right in the sketch took freaking forever, and then it took two days to paint.
Your welcome, madam. By the way, there was a sort of cargo train in the Star Wars:Republic comic series prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars. It was known as a hauler tram.
