I wanted to do this because it felt silly using Proteus' colours in the previous picture

Zakretians aren't very diverse when it comes to their colourings (usually within purple, blue and green shades). The horns on their head and 'fins' on their tail come in a small range of different shapes and sizes. Their eyes can be any colour, but the most common is green. Heredity can also determine eye colour. Zakretians always have black schlera, and their eyes faintly glow.

Families will use their own distinct markings (like a family crest, even) to make themselves easier to identify between other similarly coloured individuals. The one here, for example, has pink markings on her face and body, and a symbol of her family's crest on her arm, her siblings and parents would use this same layout. The markings aren't permanent, but it is rare to see an unmarked Zakretian; it is considered disrespectful and looked down upon. In the case of marriage and so fourth, the newly wed will create a new family crest using features and colours from each other's original family crest.
