Well yeah but I mean, I played Electric Bass in Middle School and while I do thoroughly enjoy playing electric guitar these days I don't love it nearly the way you love marching bands and drumming. In fact I don't think I like anything as much as you like marching bands. So my question is...is there something about it more so than just your prior experience that keeps you so heavily attached to it?
A lot of it comes from my belief that the marching band never gets any respect, at least in terms of football games, as people care more about winning. Otherwise it's just something I am passionate about, and so few Americans (at least as far as I know) share my passions.
Well to be fair, it's a football game not a concert, of course they're going to be more concerned with winning. The style of music in marching bands is dated with regard to today's overall outlook. Perhaps they could benefit from making it less peppy and more...what's the word...dramatic, perhaps? Kind of like a symphony but with a greater emphasis on drum work. Which isn't to day the symphony is enjoying very much respect in the modern era but it could make for a more interesting show all the same.
