Well, he's kinda sad and depressed because of his true form (the one you see here). Usually he hides using an almost human body, but sometimes he just doesn't have the choice - like when he needs to fly.

In my universes, shinigamis can be based on any species, since most of them were mortals before. And when dying, they were chosen because of their behaviour, powers or any qualities, to be shinigamis (only if they wanted to). Useless was a typical demon from Hell before his death. But he always was a kind guy. That's why his parents ended up calling him Useless. He accepted to be a shinigami since he believes that he can help out the souls of the dead by guiding them ^^

But yeah, he suffers alot because of his true form, that he hates. And he suffers even more when he must show it to people who didn't knew about it

Haha. The one in my head used to be a child. She now tags along after a young man, taking care of him in a sense. I suppose acting more of an 'ugly gaurdian angel; more so than a Reaper. Her name is Magpie, and she's terribly frightening looking. Bear-skull face, looks like a dragon, sharp claws and whatnot, but she's childlike and inquisitive. She also like shiny things, things that go 'tnk' (like hitting a glass with a spoon), and pretty bows. XDXD

Well, right now Useless acts like a guardian and assistant to someone. That person died and he guided his soul to the firs phase of the afterlife, where you remain a bit, waiting for the high autorities to decide in which zone of the Realm of Dead you'll go. But Useless is kind, and listened the story od that guy and all, and she thought that his dead was really not a fair thing and all. So, during the "turnabout" about his case, as they call that, he explained all. The judges agreed with his opinion, saying also that the killer of that guy is so chaotic and with si imprevisible powers that they couldn't even know that he'll kill that guy. So they told Useless that he must wait here one or two weeks, and then he'll have the right to bring the guy back on Earth, with another body since the other one started decomposing and all that stuff. But they'll have a mission - kill that guy's killer, since he can be dangerous in the future.
So yeah, Useless is like a guardian too, right now ^^

Aw, I feel upset when I look at this... That's how strong the piece is to me. Which is a fantastic achievement! I'm just hoping there isn't anything seriously troubling you, the artist...
