Here is another drawing from 1995 I have just now found earlier today. In a real life situation, it would take a 45 to 50 mph freight train about a mile before the engineer can get it stopped. Steel wheels on steel rails are like stopping on ice. The truck in the background is at the crossing where the car was hit.
