Once upon a time, there was a puppy named Dakota.
Dakota was a really really excited puppy and stuff. Dakota loved playing in the woods. He didn't have any friends so he was always playing with himself in the woods.
One day, Dakota met a man in the woods. He was really really really really really tall and had really really really long arms.He had tentacles sometimes and a snazzy business suit. You don't mess with people in snazzy business suits. Something in Dakota's mind told him to scream and run in the opposite direction and carry a video camera around for the rest of his life until he succumbed to paranoia, but Dakota wasn't afraid. Dakota looked long and hard at the really tall man, with his head cocked to one side all adorably. Dakota noticed something very strange. The man didn't have a mouth...or any facial features. His face was blank. Dakota paused for a moment and wondered how the slender man could drink hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. Dakota said 'Hi!" but the really really really tall skinny guy didn't talk back. You know, because he was lacking a mouth.
But in Dakota's head, the tall skinny guy said, "Hi! My name is Mr. Slenderman! Let's be best friends!!"
And so they were!
Mr. Slenderman would show up all the time! When Dakota was in the woods, when he was in school, when he was sleeping, and that one time when Dakota was taking a bubble bath and Dakota had to give Mr. Slenderman a loooong talk about personal space. Whenever Dakota turned around, Mr. Slenderman was watching him! He was always watching him! He was like a guardian angel but without a face and Dakota was sure that guardian angels had faces. They would play in the woods a lot and sometimes Mr. Slenderman would give Dakota piggyback rides! Sometimes Mr. Slenderman would get grumpy and use one of his tentacles to keep Dakota's muzzle close from yapyapyaping all day long but for the most part, he didn't mind.
One day, Dakota thought that all the other kids would like to meet Mr. Slenderman so he brought him to the playground. That was a bad idea. Dakota's Mommy and Daddy mentioned something about mass chaos or something. Dakota was sad that all the other kids didn't like Mr. Slenderman. He hoped that Mr. Slenderman's feelings weren't hurt. He knew what it was like not to have any friends. He told Mr. Slenderman that he would always be his friend and gave his leg a great big hug.
Though Dakota needed to set some boundaries with Mr. Slenderman because of that time when Dakota was taking a shower and opened the curtain and Mr. Slenderman was there just wasn't good because Dakota jumped, slipped in the slippery bathtub and somehow lost part of his ear.
But no matter what, Mr. Slenderman would still come to Dakota's room almost every night, tap tap tapped on his window and took him outside for a midnight piggyback ride through the woods under the stars.
And they were best friends forever!!
The End!
