Two nights ago I had to bring my poor bird Chinko to the vet, his leg was severely hurt. I didn't have the money to save him, I barely make $800 a month, and they wanted me to pay $1900 - $2800 to fix his leg. If he didn't have the operation he would have died. I had to put him to sleep, with no guarantee of him making it through the surgery and no real possible way of being able to pay for the surgery it was the only thing I could do for him. He was given pain killers and fluids while he was there. I wasn't allowed to be with him when they put him to sleep. I didn't get home until 2 in the morning.

I'm just... totally heartbroken over this. I got him a little over a year ago as a birthday present, about a month after my previous bird died of old age. I think I literally went into shock at the vet. I had his blood all over my hands and sweatshirt. I'm so sorry that I didn't have the money to fix you, I miss your kisses and you telling me that you're a good boy.

We buried him a few hours ago.
