Update: I've changed the hue of the background color ( i did this as I was coloring the background.) because I thought it kinda set the mood better. Anyway, I realized, this is a perfect point in the drawing to make another update.
If you're using photoshop or something like it that allows the use of layers, or even at least the option to change the color settings of the image, feel free to mess with the overall hue of the image. It can be interesting to see how it changes the overall mood of a picture. I wanted somethign warmer than green, so i went toward red. I ike it so far.
Another note. After light and dark values are added, I'll add a layer on top of those value layers, and depending on how I want the color to absorb, I may put the overlaying color on as a multiply or as a lower opacity. :B
Multiply works well for maximum absorption of the values in the layers. A lower opacity sort of almost drowns out the values but hints are where they are.
