In the midst of the undead swarm, people panicked and evacuated their homes quickly. Some grabbed what they could carry, others packed up more. Seems whoever owned this cart abandoned it part way or never made it.

This is one of the side roads in the forest, where they're roughed in due to repeated travel. There is a main road that the province built to and from major hubs. From the main trade city on the edge of the province to the mines in the north end where ore is crafted into worked metal and shipped down. The main village of our story was in the process of having the main road extended down their way, but it never got finished.
