The other reason I am having to take those emergency headshot commissions XD
Snookie one of my (very) tame and (very) stupid quail broke her leg near the knee over a week ago. We have utterly NO idea how… she has a very secure and safe quail hutch with minimal obstacles and no wire edges where little feet may get stuck. She’s just talented that way.
And she has thus far helped rack up almost $300 in vet bills XD
We are very concerned about her foot atm which is not responding, so she is currently having weekly visits with the avian vet to see what can be done.
Snookie does not seem to mind. She’s loving the attention and demands meal worms , cuddles and seed (the treat in her bowl in the photo) every time I walk by her recovery box >:C
We love her so <3

Yup! I keep Japanese and button Quail. They are easy to tame (especially if you offer them meal worm's for treats ;) , and all produce eggs. If you want Quail eggs for eating I would suggest the Japanese Quail as they and the legs are much larger :)
Quail are pretty quiet, the males do make a crowing call from time to time so if you are in need of very quiet birds I would suggest only getting females.

Oh bless. I love quails. They're like BIG FLUFFY CHICKEN NUGGETS. <333
I really hope the best for her! I see this was posted quite a while ago, how's she doing?
I've got a special needs collared dove. Had to treat it for liver disease, splayed leg and a sprained ankle. We we're too late for the ankle though so it will forever walk like it has a peg leg. :L We love our Piggywiggle to bits though and he/she is very tame and spoiled. <3

Thank you! She is all well and mended now! She did sustain some nerve damage to the leg, so it is a tad gimpy and she has a permanent stiff limp but she does not let that get to her (and she is still queen of the hutch haha.) And aww piggywiggle that is an adorable name XD
