Trying to continue to debunk the myth that Bane is a mindless ravenous beast, she's actually highly intelligent. I added spaces to her dialouge here mostly for clarity. I thought it would be cruel if i combined hyperspeak and technobabble.

Bane is a scientific genius which is why she is so FEIRCELY protective of her mice. They're all part of various experiments and even better, have been bred to be genetically modifiable to mimic any species. She may have a temper but there's a reason she's the Second in Command to the Overlord and the Department head of Research and Development.
As for the list of symptoms that bane noted in the treated and untreated variables, high Fever, coughing, nausea, and weakness that lead to unresponsiveness to stimuli.

The virus was designed to be non-communicable for testing so that Garret could infect subjects and be able to work closely with them without getting sick himself, or the rest of the crew. once sufficent testing had been done at that stage he would have devised a way to make it more communicable. It was still in the early stages of development, fortunately or unfortunately for Darius.
Genre-savvyness... DON'T experiment with diseases that spread like fire in California in July unless you want someone to make a mistake and kill your whole crew. Good to know Garrett is said savvy... granted it stops experimentation real quick but how many movies do we have about this <_<;;
