Oh, and that plane with the USAF logo makes me think this is sometimes back in the 40s or 50s on some overseas US military airbase. The palm trees and that hut in the BG also do a great job at giving that impression.

Might be because they're already so human. Anthopomorphasizing, that is giving human qualities, a fox or a rabbit is one thing but if you do it to a monkey isn't the result pretty much human?
