!-Adoptions-! Midnight Prowl; Stage 1
It’s been a few days since you’ve had the eggs now. They’ve been resting in your room in a pile of clean clothes to keep them warm... Or at least you hope the clothes are clean. You continue with your normal routine, occasionally checking in on them before you leave and as you come home. God forbid someone catching you saying ‘good night’ to them.
You’ve almost started to convince yourself that the eggs are just a clever trick, until the purple one catches your eye. The egg start to move a bit, hitting the others as it shakes back and fourth. You anxiously get a closer look, still keeping your distance but close enough to closely observe the small creature. Not a moment after the egg starts to shake, it quickly starts to crack and fall apart. The shell is quickly kicked away by two hind legs until the the entire shell is removed, revealing a small, fluffy creature.
The creature blinks a few times and settles before looking right in your direction. It’s orange eyes are striking, almost as if they glow in the dim lighting of the room. You watch without making a single movement, caught in a trance by the creature. Just a few moments after the creature gets to it’s feet, wobbly at first but at it’s feet no less.
You take a moment to closely observe the four-legged fluff-ball. It’s long, fluffy purple coat is only complimented by it’s orange eyes. Wait a second. Are it’s paws glowing too? The vibrant colors keep you looking over the creature for as long as possible, from heat to tail. Wait.... What IS that around it’s tail? It almost looks like a cloth covering up something round. You reach out to inspect the cloth but not before the creature darts away and onto the ground taking off faster than you can even keep track! Wait up!
You run to the left. You run to the right. You scale a small chair and gracefully trip on a rug. You spend the rest of the day chasing this rather quick critter around your abode. Ducking behind furniture and diving over countertops. This little guy seems to fit anywhere and everywhere.
That sure was a lot of excitement for one day. After cleaning up the broken pottery, the soiled clothes and the numerous amounts of food wrappings covering the floor you both are pretty worn out.
The little creature makes it’s way back into the nest and curls around the remaining eggs, carefully wrapping it’s big bushy tail around the two. You on the other hand, exhausted, out of breath and almost certain your sprained something may find the ground next to the clutch of critters just as comfortable, if not more so than walking all three feet to your bed. Just before you close your eyes you glance one last time at your new found room mate tucked gently against the remaining eggs. You’re not sure what will become of the two. When they’ll hatch, if they’ll hatch. Not to mention what you’ll even do with them.
Midnight Prowl's first stage is revealed! And what a cutie at that! But the real question is, what is it? I wonder when we'll find out.
