What can I say... I LOVE how this came out! Not only because of the (finally) dynamic jumping pose, but also because of this cool character. It's been a lot of fun drawing this character, which I did draw back in September 2006 (!!) for the first time.
This is my second artwork of "Sanlich"... and I like this Necromancer! :3
Thanks VERY MUCH to my brother Chris, who helped me with editing this artwork in the final stages. It was his idea to use the skulls as "companions", which fight side by side with Sanlich. After all, he has summoned these spirits himself!
I love the little green "companion skull", he he he.
ENJOY!!

NOTE:
I did NOT use a photo reference for the skulls or background this time - it's hand made! I only used a sport magazine for the body reference.

THANKS, and yes... I don't use "light effects" so often, because I'm not using digital media "properly". In fact, I use the digital media as a simple tool... and I don't use many filters and stuff. THIS time I have experimented on some filters and it was worth it!
^_^
But in the end... it's all hand-made and even the best filter can't help you, if the drawing looks bad! XD For example the skulls... which I had to draw by hand.
But the additional filter turns them into ghostly spirits.... hmmmmmmmmm!

Powerful pose, I especially love the skulls in the background (the color's choice is perfect).
And what an anatomy, Sanlich looks like a great necromancer warrior, I have to take some reference too for the muscles of him (and my others characters).
Ah and guess what? look at this!^^

Here, I have something sweet for you: a slightly better-looking wallpaper! ^^
Your resolution is horrible... buuuuuuut I guess it works well now.
Also, I've changed the moon just for YOUR system!

Look what we have here. We have Patrick with one of his dynamic pics!!! This is AWESOME man, seriously :D
The pose is what wins here, movement, action, and even a narratve scene, this are the kind of things that I like to see from a pic. The characters looks really cool there, using his necromatic powers to cast spirits and stuff, awesome!
The coloring is also a good one, you don´t use to make a lot of cold colors, most of them has a red, yellow or brown at least, but this is 100% cold colors, something new from you, that´s for sure.
And the mix of shadig with the character and the skulls, I don´t know how you made that, but somehow, both elements doesn´t look that they don´t belong to the same pic. Maybe is because of how you interact the character with the skulls as the magic effect, who knows.
Anyway, this is a pic that hell of course I´m going to fave, congratulations with this work!!! ^ ^

Hey, thaaaaaanks a lot, buddy. You named all aspects important to me.
The shading and skulls came by accident... using a wrong filter at first and then... wow! The ghostly effects came to life. Hehe, and yes, I have used unusual cold colours here... well spottet.
The pose was most important... after all these posers and static stances.
Thanks very much for the comment!

Hahah XD funny irony, "ghostly effects came to life", ghosts are practically death entities walking at the livig world XD What a funny cliche ^ ^
But wow, so even effective accidents happens with you too, nice ^ ^ Looks like accidents are making benefits for us like the Dragon Claw´s shape XD
You´re very welcome man ^ ^

This isn't so difficult. Here is how I do it, maybe this helps you:
All layers are listed up in the correct order. It's important that this order will be followed:
1) Highlights (this is the most top layer)
2) Shadings (Multiply effect; 60% opacity)
3) Colours (Multiply effect)
4) Line Art
This usually works for me. You can put all these layers in one "set" and use a new one for each characfter and the background.
It's like building a wal... brick on brick.
