Near the shores of the Galagos range was a small resting area where many different monster gathered. The shack housed mostly these huge creatures known as Kangersome. These creatures are incredibly massive and cloaked in metal armor, with wires attached to their massive arms. These are the kind of creatures Salazar and Groundy would prefer to get on the good side of. Also inhabiting the shack were their smaller cousins, Wallirons, who were basically younger, slimmer Kangersome, much like Pash and Opolars are younger Marmera.
But Salazar and Groundy would have naught time to rest, but a plot by Salazar's brother continues to unfold. Adrian and his friends had already arived at Galagos range and stumbled upon the shack. Inside, they found many Kangersome and Wallirons. Adrian had a sly look on his face concerning them. "I hear Kangersome are incredibly strong," Adrian said to his friends. All three of which were shivering. "I don't like this place," Wedge said. Adrian snapped his body around. "Hush!" Adrian didn't want any of that. "I'm thinking if we can get the help of a Kangersome, those little pipsqueeks will go back home." Zeno started to grit his teeth at Adrian's comment. Eventually, Adrian decided to go up to a random Kangersome to talk turkey.
"Well... I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of running into one of you," Adrian said, trying to sweet-talk to the Kangersome. Barnes couldn't help but crack up in a giggle at what he assumed would happen eventually to Adrian as he was talking. "It may come off as sudden, but I kind of wanted to ask of you a favor." The Kangersome knelt down to Adrian's height and glared. He then snorted out a think torrent of steam in Adrian's face. Adrian was immediately intimidated by the Kangersome and backed off."Err... nevermind," Adrian said, still trying to seem friendly. Adrian put on a nervous smile as he backed off.
He then tried to do the same with a second Kangersome, but more or less got the same thing to happen. He then asked a third Kangersome for help, except this time the Kangersome actually tried to pound Adrian's face. ...And managed to. The Kangersome's punch catapulted Adrian right into the wall of the Cabin. He hit the wall back first and slid right onto his keister. "Give it up, Adrian," Zeno requested. "You're not going to convince them to help you." Adrian started to groan. "Maybe I should settle for less."
Adrian eventually got up and dusted himself off. He then walked over to a couple of Wallirons, who seemed much less threatening. However, they didn't seem friendly. One of them started to laugh before the other one talked. "Oh look, road kill!" Adrian tried to stay calm, but the generic opossum joke got him ticked off. "Grrrr... Let me ask you," Adrian started. "What do you guys do for a living?" The laughing Walliron snickered some more as the other one spoke. "What's it look like? We beat up wimps. Just like you." Adrian started to tense up and grit his teeth. He wasn't looking too hot. Eventually, Zeno stepped forward and tried to talk sense into them. "Err, we do have two subjects you could beat up, but we don't want you to..." Before he could finish, Adrian interupted. "Yes, there's a little squirt named Salazar who's trying to chase us down, and he brought along a friend named Groundy, who's a Grounderl, and the little shrimp Salazar is a Pash. If you see them, make sure you drive them away back home. And if you have to, remove them from existence." This didn't please Zeno. "No! Don't kill them, just send them back home." Adrian gave an angered look back at Zeno for the response he just gave.
"Alright, we'll do that," the Second Walliron replied. Adrian snapped his head back to the Wallirons. "Really?" he asked. "Well that's good. Then we're on the same page." Adrian and Zeno walked back over to Wedge and Barnes near the door. "If they make it past Veuda Lake, they should be close by. Have fun." Adrian lead his group outside as he gave off yet another hideous laugh. Adrien and his friends went on their way back to Mountryu.
Salazar and Groundy eventually woke up after their temporary daze from being blown ashore. Salazar and Groundy had just started their trek up the Galagos range. And all the while, Salazar couldn't help but feel guilty. "I know we have come far, but... There's still chance to go back," Salazar said. "I know you're dedicated to helping a complete stranger you met just yesterday by going on a life-threatening quest to arrive at a tall, dangerous mountain, possibly to arrive just in time to see my brother incinerate the dragon fruit tree to smithereens, but... is it all going to be worth it?" Groundy thought deep down about what Salazar said before replying. "No," she replied. "But you are."
Salazar actually kind of did want to talk Groundy out of this adventure. He already listed the reasons: They just met yesterday, the quest would be dangerous, and they might not get there in time. "Are... are you absolutely sure, Groundy?" Salazar asked. Groundy nodded. "What happened so far? We just escaped your own home together, we protected each other in a dark tunnel against a mob of Shiftevils, and we held hands together as an Icerimist sent us flying. You don't remember what happened down in the cave, do you?" Salazar started to think as Groundy was talking to him. "You saved my life against the Shiftevils, and in turn, I owe it to you. My life is yours, you are in my debt." Salazar tilted his head. "But didn't I save yours after you saved mine?" Groundy walked over and placed a claw on his shoulder. "It doesn't matter. Real friends, no mater how long they've known each other, will protect each other at the time of need. I've done that, and so have you. You need to stop worrying about me. Besides, we're almost at the Beltha ruins. I know you're concerned, but I will stick with you till the end." Salazar started to shed tears before giving Groundy a big hug. Groundy was dedicated to his mission even though they just met. They were both concerned for each other. They were like true brother and sister to each other, even though neither were related.
"Then you two can part now, because the end is here." Eventually, Salazar and Groundy turned around to see the Wallirons in their path. One of them was laughing and pounding their fists together while the other was talking with his arms crossed. "It's time for you two to go home, unless you enjoy broken bones." They were pretty big alright, but neither Salazar or Groundy were intimidated. "We have faced dangers greater than you," Salazar retorted. The laughing Walliron laughed harder. "Perhaps you need a warning," the other one said.
Both the Wallirons stiffened up and then blew out through their nose a heavy stream of water directed at Salazar and Groundy's feet. This caused the two to back up, but not run. Groundy then started to smile. "Don't worry, I have a plan." Shen then put her claws to the ground and started to shake the ground again, causing the Wallirons to stumble. ...But not much else. The Wallirons seemed hardly phased by this. "That's all you got?" the talking Walliron said. "It takes a lot more than that to beat us." And that's when they started to get serious about their assault.
The two Wallirons started their attack by choosing either Groundy or Salazar to fight. The one who picked Groundy sprayed more water jets from its nose toward Groundy. Groundy tried her hardest to dodge them, but was more or less unsuccessful. The other Walliron started punching Salazar. Salazar also tried his hardest to dodge, but got hit several times as well. After being knocked to the ground by a punch, Salazar got up and started to breathe out very heavily.
"Yikes, these two are actually legit," Salazar said, starting to feel worried. Groundy was just as worried. "Tell me about it," she said, trying to fight back with her claws. Even her claws had little effect against the Wallirons. "You two are boring!" the talking Walliron said. "You should go back home now while you have the chance." Salazar looked at the two Wallirons and their metal coats. They were a relatively dark metal, which attracted heat particularly well. Which means that a strong blast of fire would fry them. "No! I am going to THAT TREE!!!" Salazar had a plan to beat them.
"Groundy, get the two together," he called out. Groundy nodded and replied by smacking her Walliron straight in the gut. The Walliron was knocked back a bit by that. And the Walliron didn't look happy. Salazar did the same to his Walliron and managed to knock them together, toppling them both over. That's when he got to work. Salazar first proceeded to spew out a stream of Oil at the Wallirons. He then took a good 10 seconds to puff his chest out, trying to store enough energy to send the two packing and eventually belched out a mighty stream of deep red flames. The flames engulfed the two helpless Wallirons right before they managed to get up. The huge bonfire atop the Wallirons could be seen from the Veuda Lake colony. Fortunately, the flames died out quickly, and the Wallirons were more or less finished.
Salazar looked at the Wallirons and shook his head. One of the Wallirons was groaning really obnoxiously, and the other was trying to move. "Wha... what just happened?" the moving Walliron asked. "Mommy..." The Walliron fell completely to the ground. And after a few seconds, Salazar did to. "You did it!" Groundy cheered. "You beat the Wallirons." Salazar slowly got up after he fell down. He was deeply exhausted after extruding the amount of flames he did. "Sorry... Groundy..." Salazar started. "Throwing up that many flames took a LOT out of me as a Marmera, and it takes even more out of me as a Pash. You might need to help me along."
Groundy walked over to Salazar and held onto his arms. "You deserve this," she said as she helped Salazar walk. The two were back on the trail after fighting a long fight. It felt like things would get even harder for the two as they went. But they were halfway done with their quest already. What would become of them next?
