the hover shiv is the best. xD hard to hit and round o3o and can fly.

i agree this is a crazy fun game NEVER the same no matter how many times ya play it but i don't recognize some of those armor sets but love the game ether way.... kinda motivated ta play it again

I got the color stuff as dlc. but the assaults are wearing titan armor, the heavy is wearing archangel armor, and the support and sniper are in skeleton armor.

sniper + skeleton armor is a killer combination

yeah. XD can get her pretty far. wish she was a snap shot. recently made ghost armor. going to be letting my support have that.

yea i have my set up a lil different i usually have 2 snipers 2 heavy's 1 assault and 1 support. but now i think about it that may be why i have problems every now and again

I like having two assaults. to work as the main force of my ground. my sniper hangs back as high as she can and provides amazing support killing anything that moves. so I dont' need two. Shivy has helped a lot I must say xD

might try a formation like yours sometime might make my like tons easier

I'm no minmaxer by any degree but I do try to think about my own strategy. XD just somehting to keep in mind

indeed my mix tens ta be killer, adequate, or in some rare cases it costs me my entire squad guess i just need ta think a lil bit more i guess or something ill figure it out

Ghost armor kicks ass. A hint: you can escape suppression fire by activating ghost mode before moving.

Yep! I ended up using ghost armor more than even the Titan suit or the flying armor. In the last mission, no less than four of my troopers were equipped with it.

This game...Is fucking amazing!

Meh,my squad's better. Derpy Hooves (sniper),Pinkie Pie (support medic),Me (assault support/capture specialist),Princess Peach (assault),Mr. T (heavy),and Princess Luna (heavy). We kick all kinds of ass. Beta squad's even nastier,tho.

Love Xcom...such a fantastic and well crafted game.

Assaults in ghost armor- set off their well crafted reactions and make all of them fail when you've moved within 4 spaces of their beloved Elites. haha. Then ghost. Somebody is going to die and it's not going to cost you a thing! Mwahahaha!

Next turn. ghost, Runn'gun, and a rapid fire shotgun to their leaders face! Truly the most satisfying feeling, even better than a well-planned sniper round to a Brute Vanguard's(Halo3) face!

I ran 'Classic' mode(Squad Size 2): 2sniper, 2assault, 1support, 1heavy ....then I had my butt handed to me in a very large so I had to take one year(they stopped landing) to develop a second heavy to colonel level for the final assault.

Believe me, that second shredder rocket is priceless! Even in Classic mode, a ghost assault on run&gun, a shredder and regular on fusion laucher provides maximum distance from danger and ends the game. ... you can even relax enough to goof off with your psychic versus one of their etherial guard! It's fun messing with ethereal when you have a decent chance of victory!



Sidenote: Archangel armor is a waste, ghost assault with chitin plating and reflexes makes you a juggernaut!

Also... I've thought about H.SHIVs, but I figure that more abilities are better then a little armor. They're even on health in the end of the game, so unless you have gads of money, it's not worthe the R&D to me..... but then I wasn't running Iron Man mode.
The best advice for UFO's and bases alike is don't get bogged down by peons, kill their big guns first, leave the melee to your assaults with close combat specialties.

shivs are cheap to manufacture though. and I'd rather lose them than a soldier if I can help it. they have a big range and help me a lot in civilian rescue and bomb disarming O:

Bomb disposals? I've never tried them. Never had the need. I'm curious about that though, a machine disarming a node or bomb. Again, I lacked the confidence to go Iron Man mode. My thoughts on a units use were how many endangering missions does it take to get the erilium supply or worse the fragment supply for those note? How much money do you waste on research in the most expensive facility?
To me, it came out even to raising a young pup. The difference to me was the S.C.O.P.E. on my heavy. That's kinda why the very large handed me my arse after 4elite, 2berserker, 2secto, 7muton, 4drones, and 1 very nasty etherial... So I brought up a second heavy-fusion launcher and half the missions became a cake walk.
It's too bad a blazing fast time elapse can't be made, I am curious about other more efficient methods. I only lost France and could've survived the onslaught of the last mission in August(start in march), but only just...so I felt a heavy was... A second heavy was a necessity..... And enumerable chitin since I most cruelly let a single crysalis deliver 20 new crysalis to my front door. Yes, I'm viciously efficient.
