Took the entire thing apart and rebuild it! Now it's MUCH tidier: the panel uses actual boards now instead of a bunch of wires, saving up lots of space (and headaches). The box opens too on two hinges now, so no tugging on wires anymore ;)
I found an old box of Meccano in my stuff so used that for the inner framework :D
Now everything is all tidy and modular (the two blue plates with the white relays on them are 2 full adders, the one with the green and 2 white relays the MUX for substracting and the two red plates on the right are memory banks) so i don't have to go looking for faults in a big mess of wires and components.
Now onto wiring everything up and we have ourselves an (not turing-complete) 2-bit relay computer!
