And with pleasure.
This is my resignation letter, to the company I worked for more than three years.
I suppose that even if it's a big one with more than a thousand of workers, they never received such a letter.
And you know what? I'm so relieved to leave that growing hell before that collapses on the workers. Of course, I'm sad for the team I was the manager of, but now... La vie continue.
... And focusing on the project again.

I began as a forklift driver in the expedition area, in a bulb factory, deserving all the Europe's area. At that time, the team was a very little, since that was the night team. 7 persons! It was just to finish the day's works, nothing more nothing less.
After, we grew a bit too fast, having some new contracts that needed to create another team in the night. We passed from 7 persons to 50, working all night long.
And that supposed some promotions. Since I was in the initial team, I gained some new duties, as to manage the team of the assistants of the commissions in the tunnels. That means having 8 persons to lead. It was more a title than a real distinction. It wasn't that bad at the beginning. But hell, another guy in the initial team was promoted to adjoint-chief in the same time.
Hell was unleashed.
I dunno why he's so angry, maybe jealousy to my leadership with the workmates that I consider as friends, but he's not appreciated by anyone. But that's not the matter.
I was in troubles with that moron several times. 'till I simply leaved the work two weeks ago better than to beat that fcker. And then, I was threatened several times from the high responsibles for the fault I did then. I explain myself at the human ressources direction, but they didn't want to listen, even if I point numerous faults he did toward my team, like racial discrimination.
It's obvious he's protected by a high boss. And he knows that too well, so he can act whatever he want, he's safe in any case.
Lately, they even push our team in their last limits. Do that, or you go into the day's teams(or you're fired). The load and the rate of work is simply crazy, and several of my workmates are to the point to physically and emotionnaly collapse under the pressure. Better that to kneel myself, I prefer to leave. I do not accept blackmail like that.

That is sad to hear. It angers me to hear of people taking advantage of others like that. You seem to put up with a lot of bull shit, and for a large part, still manage to stay strong. I'm sorry to hear of your bad luck having to deal with that guy and the higher ups that are clearly corrupt. I hope things work out for you.
Ouch ! C'est le genre de "petit chef" que je redoute d'avoir un jour comme supérieur hiérarchique, car je me sentirais bien capable de le "suicider" avant qu'il ne me pousse à la démission sous la contrainte. En tout cas, ta lettre a de bonnes chances de rester archivée dans une catégorie à part du département légal...
J'espère que tu vas retrouver assez rapidement un travail valorisant et (si possible) te laissant suffisamment de temps pour dessiner.

Ca a bougé pas mal de choses en tout cas! Un chef de journée est venu parler avec moi, et ce durant une heure! Il a tenté de me dissuader de partir, argumentant que ca pourrait dessouder l'équipe que je manageais!

congratulations on your integrity and guts to take your hat and leave before everything collapses on your head. let's hope your team leaves also; let that sucker try to take up your position. if he is like what you described he will fail miserably, refuse to accept it and make everything worse. maybe his underlings will flee after a few days, until the enw ones flee also. his protector will at one point have to admit he'd better can that guy or make it even worse... of course, people like that will never be canned.they know how to sweet-talk their way out of desaster.

after me finishing learning professional auto mechanic I worked at a larger auto shop for a couple years. four bosses (one senior, his wife and their two sons) failed to work together, and after I got canned in the end one of the sons failed so miserably at a fleet sale they got bought up by a large dealer chain. he then fell back on the small autoscooter business and his bro became a personnel manager at one of the chain's autoshops. and managed to have the employees literally run away... so they put him to another shop, and here it was the same. maybe three or four stations later he got canned, because workers ran off, and the new ones didn't stay long enough for their first paycheck... :P
some people shouldn't be allowed to deal with others.
