Fight Description:
“Welcome everyone, to the first match of Round 1 of Zephyr’s tournament. We have an exciting match for you today, gotta start things off with a bang!”
The black dragon clears his throat loudly and gestures towards the tall, brown furred wolfrabbit. “Over here on the port side, we have the inky wolfrabbit, Immelmann! Immelmann is a purveyor of the perverse and exotic toys for use in all situations. I think I own a few and they all broke after one or two uses.”
Looking annoyed, the wolfrabbit tapped his large foot on the deck of the ship. “All products are guaranteed and can be replaced when presented along with the receipt. You DID keep the receipt, right?”
With an awkward smile and a nervous look off to the side, Shade continued. “Er, yes… moving on. Our second contestant is someone you all remember. Put your hands together for last year’s runner up, the electrifying lupine, Yamato Iouko! Yamato, you almost won the last tournament and now you’re back. Can you tell me what’s going through that head of yours?”
With electricity crackling across his frame, the leather clad black wolf crossed his arms and smiled a toothy grin. “I’ve learned a few things since the last time. I’m sorry to say, Immelmann, but you’re just the first stepping stone in my rise to the top. This time, it’s all or nothing!”
“Alright then, sounds like you’re pumped and ready to go.” Shade walked back to the center and pulled out a small index card. “Today’s match will be taking place aboard a real live pirate ship! And not the cheesy kind you see in the cinemas! Our host, Mr. Thorn, claims this ship has been lost at sea for many years, I think he just won it in a game of strip poker. Gentlemen, if you’ll meet in the center.”
The two contestants strode forward and stared at each other, that determined, predatory glint in their eyes. “I want a good clean fight. Rules are simple. No outside weapons, no use of abilities beyond the one you registered, and if you want to have an orgy, make sure it’s in front of the cameras. First fighter to pass out or get knocked off the side of the ship will be tubed for our amusement; winner will move on to later be tubed for our amusement. And with that, FIGHT!”
The ship rocked as the two fighters jumped back, neither one taking his eyes off his opponent. For several moments, they circled, their bodies tense and ready for action.
Immelmann spoke first. “You know, after your past performance, I would have gladly offered you a position as a model for some of my new toys. But I guess if you want to get your ass tied up and gagged for free, at least I’m not responsible for paying you.”
Yamato smirked. “When I get done with you, Immy, you’re going to look like you took a piss on a power outlet.” With that, Yamato pounced forward, aiming a crackling, electrified fist at the wolfrabbit.
The blow connected and Immelmann staggered back several steps, the ship leaning as the weight on board shifted. “You’ve got a nice punch, Yamato, good thing I brought someone along who likes taking the beating in my place!” Immelmann took a quick spin, slinging ink from his tail at Yamato, forcing the wolf to dodge. The largest puddle seemed dissatisfied to simply lie there, manifesting itself into a vicious looking canine creature of living ink. With a growl, it slid across the deck, leaving a trail of glistening black ink as it moved, taking its place at its master’s side. United with his ally, Immelmann lunged forward, throwing punches at his opponent.
Yamato was fast, but the wolfrabbit still had the upper hand in the speed department. With the little ink familiar snapping at his ankles, and Immelmann aiming for his face, the wolf had no choice but to hop backward. A few blows connected, but he seemed no worse for the wear. However, as the ship tilted to the starboard, both contestants froze. Yamato tensed his body and, after a few seconds, was finally able to stabilize his stance. “I hate boat rides!” the wolf growled.
Immelmann seemed to be fairing better, having quickly regained his footing. The rabbit was showing off, hopping from foot to foot merrily. “What’s wrong, wolfy? Never been on a cruise before? Just gotta keep an eye on the way the boat’s leaning!” He grinned as he threw a few more quick punches, taking advantage of Yamato’s unsteady footing. “Me? I find I get some of my best inspiration from a nice cruise!”
The wolf growled, using his arms to block Immelmann’s attacks. “All those times you’ve been at sea, ever had to deal with any storms?” With a triumphant yell and a powerful kick to the deck, Yamato launched himself in the air. There was a bright flash as he descended like lightning, connecting his powerful Inazumo Kick to Immelmann’s chest.
Two simultaneous explosions happened as the blow landed. The first one, Yamato expected. Taking a direct blow to the chest, Immelmann yelped loudly as he went flying. For a moment, it looked as though the CEO was going overboard, landing hard on the boards and skidding towards the edge. Luckily for him, he managed to grab hold of a loose plank, ending with only his tail and feet hanging over the edge.
The second explosion, Yamato hadn’t counted on. As his blow struck Immelmann, the inky little familiar gave a screech of pain and exploded. Yamato gave a loud grunt as he was pelted with globs of the inky creature’s remains, a large one smacking him in the face and leaving bits of ink blurring his eyesight. “So much for your little pet,” the wolf growled, trying to wipe the ink off his face.
Immelmann groaned as he stood, some of the residual electricity from Yamato’s kick crackling across his body. His joints felt a little stiffer now when he moved, the electricity giving him a little shock whenever he tried to move too fast. “Don’t worry,” he managed. “I’m sure you’ll be seeing him again really soon.” As if on cue, the various pools of ink still dotting the battlefield began to quiver and reform into similar familiars, all focused on Yamato.
With a growl, Yamato focused his electricity into his hands and began to snipe the blobs from a distance, intent on not taking another inky explosion. His aim was slightly off, however, the ink from Immelmann’s initial familiar still dripping down his face.
Seizing the opportunity, the wolfrabbit pushed forward and lashed out at Yamato. He found that with the paralyzing electricity still coursing through his body, he wasn’t able to put nearly as much force behind his blows as he wanted to, but he still scored a direct hit on the end of his opponent’s snout.
Grunting, the wolf stopped focusing on the ink, instead tossing a bolt directly into Immelmann’s face as he put some distance between himself and his foe. For every bolt that connected with Immelmann, the ink blobs sizzled and popped, covering more of the deck. “Ugh… that crap’s everywhere. It’s like a really bad internet meme…” Yamato gasped as, without warning, the ink familiar lunged out of the shadows and clamped down on his leg. “Stupid little…” Zapping the familiar with electricity triggered another explosion, pushing the wolf towards his opponent and into Immelmann’s waiting foot.
Foot met face, fist met shoulder, the two contestants trading blows quickly with one another. Normally, Yamato’s superior power would have easily left his opponent reeling, but with the ink creature splitting the pain with its master, Immelmann was able to remain standing, despite the severe ringing in his ears.
Using a final kick to knock Immelmann back towards the edge, Yamato seized his chance at victory and leapt high into the air, preparing another electrified kick. With his opponent reeling so close to the edge, a well placed blow would send him plummeting into the waters below. The wolf had to squint as he aimed, his face covered in ink, but with a roar, he rocketed down.
Immelmann managed to look up and see the incoming blow just in the nick of time, throwing his body forward as Yamato’s powerful attack crashed into the deck of the ship. The force of the Inazumo Kick caused the ship to lurch to the side and, taking advantage of his environment, Immelmann landed a rabbit kick square into the small of Yamato’s back. With a yelp, the wolf staggered forward and off the edge of the boat.
The splash was music to Immelmann’s ears as he slowly got to his feet, breathing heavy. “Hope this won’t affect your future purchases,” he panted.
“And the first match goes to Immelmann!” Shade stepped out onto the deck and lifted the rabbit’s hand high. Somehow, he’d managed to avoid all of the ink and electricity.
Immelmann jerked his hand away. “I need a nap… this is too much work.”
Shade groaned at the sticky black mess now dripping from his hand. “I really hope this is ink…”
Yamato awoke several hours later, once again finding himself tied up in a glass tube. This time, however, the teleporter seemed to have a deposited him on his head, his own member dripping on his face. To top things off, he’d somehow ended up with a sex toy sheathed in his ass. As if to add insult to injury, he could see the brand logo of Immelmann’s company stamped on the handle.
After a few moments, a glowing green figure walked over and stared down at the defeated wolf. “I swear, Yamato,” Thorn said with a grin. “The next time I hold a tournament, I’m going to engrave your name on the tube.”
Voting has ended, Immelmann is the winner!

Immelmann. Sorry Yama, but it's the stage. You have lower awareness and Immy's ability can lower it further (his actual ability as listed, not Amano's that got posted XD), which is bad considering that means the stage effect will drop your speed to 1. Immy will have only 1 power but I feel like it's still leaning somewhat in his direction.
Yay for new blood.
Speed is equal to Awareness. Ok, no change to stats there. Immelmann is faster and more aware than Yamato. Point to Immelmann.
Yamato's ability does do damage and a dot, true, but the paralysis reduces power and speed. Immelmann's speed goes down to 2 and pops back up to 3 due to the stage. Immelmann's ink familiar absorbs some of the damage, protecting him from Yamato's damage output, and then goes boom, lowering Yamato's awareness, which is also going to cost him Speed on this stage.
In my eyes, stats point to Immelmann. That and he's just cuter than hell. I want to see him tied up nice and tight, but not yet.

Immelmann
Thanks to Onyx sharing with me rules that aren't posted (yet), Immelmann has double Yamato's speed and awareness, thanks to the stage's interaction with his neutral alignment. Yes, Yamato may flinch him when he hits him, but once Immelmann's ability goes off once, his 4 speed and 4 awareness should keep him QUITE safe from Yamato's 1 speed and 1 awareness.
Alright, first analysis of the tournament~
First, let's take a look at Immelmann. He has a shielding familiar that absorbs some of his damage, and at some point in the fight he's going to be doing additional damage by exploding and reducing Yamato's Awareness. That's deadly in this stage, since it'll reduce Yamato's Speed as well. Furthermore, because he's Neutral, he gains a bonus to either his Speed or Awareness here. However, due to the changes to the rules regarding ranged attacks, we can't assume he even has one unless it's part of his ability. As such, he'll have to come close to Yamato to hit him, not only meaning he'll be getting smacked around a lot, but also that he'll easily become victim to Yamato's ability, resulting in a loss of Power and being hit by a light DoT. At the end of all the stat changes, he'll end up at either 1/3/4/1 or 1/4/3/1, and be taking damage from a light DoT.
On to Yamato. He's hurt fairly badly by this stage, unfortunately. Because there's little room to run around, his ranged attacks are only going to be useful until Imm closes the gap between them. He'll also be losing both Speed and Awareness pretty soon; he's going to have dealt a fair amount of damage to Imm's ink familiar quickly, so he'll lose a stage of Awareness, and the stage effect will further make him lose Speed too, taking him down to 3/1/1/2. However, the fact is he DOES have that ranged advantage in the brief periods of time Imm might spend evading him, and while his Speed is so much lower, his DPS is still going to be higher due to Imm only having his basic attack and an occasional counterattack, and if Imm tries evading he'll still be getting hit by the DoT and taking some damage from Yama's magic. His higher Power versus Imm's low Endurance also improves his chances of making Imm flinch, at which point he could try and take advantage and push Imm off the boat before he can recover. That, however, could possibly be countered by Imm's Awareness reducing his chance of leaving himself in a place where he could be tossed overboard.
Due to the rules changes regarding stats - especially the one regarding flinching - and Yamato's superior DPS, I feel like he'll be able to eke out a victory here, although I'll admit it'll be tough on him in this first round...

Pirate Ship - Neutral elements increase their Awareness to match their Speed if Speed is higher, or add a point to either Speed or Awareness if the two are equal already. They aren't immune to ringout though.
Well, say the character has 1 speed, 3 awareness. In that case, they gain nothing. If they have 3 speed, 1 awareness, then they gain 2 awareness, making it 3 speed, 3 awareness. BUT, if they're equal, they can add 1 point to speed or 1 point to awareness. Obviously adding 1 point to awareness would maximize the stage's effect as Speed becomes equal to Awareness. It probably needs clarification from the people who created the stage effects.

In the X/1/3/X case, anyone would become X/3/3/X based on the stage's primary effect. If they're X/3/1/X, then most fighters would become X/1/1/X, but because a Neutral can have Awareness become Speed if their Speed is higher, they'll still become X/3/3/X. In Immelmann's case, he's already 1/3/3/1 after Yama's debuff (the Power is reduced, but because Speed changes to equal Endurance, the debuff to it isn't placed), and the stage's Neutral element bonus regarding when Awareness and Speed are already equal is to give a one-point advantage in one stat or the other. If we had that bonus point affected by the stage's normal effect, then they'd have infinite Speed and Awareness, because they'd gain a point to Awareness from the elemental bonus from the stage, then gain a point of Speed due to the normal stage effect, then gain another point of Awareness because of the neutral elemental bonus and the two stats being equal, and so on ad nauseum. I would assume the cleanest way to deal with that is to make the bonus point something unaffected by the stage's normal effect. Further, I'd assume Yama's Speed debuff would kick in if Immelmann applied his Neutral Pirate Ship bonus to Speed, since it's not setting his Speed lower than his Awareness, so he's probably going to apply it to Awareness and end up 1/3/4/1 compared to Yamato's 3/1/1/2. Still a good stat advantage to be sure, but not a game-ender right out the gate.
Yama's speed debuff CANNOT kick in. It is an activated effect while the stage effect (Speed becomes = to Awareness) is constant). Also, on a stage where Speed and Awareness keep you safe from the instant kill, I'd say 1 Spd, 1 Awareness is pretty vicious.
As for the infinite loop, I would assume the Neutral bonus would only apply ONCE, therefore preventing anything infinite. It's like playing a game of Planechase Magic. You can be on a Plane where all monsters get +1 Atk/+1 Health and then have a monster who's health becomes equal to his attack. He'd only gain the +1 Atk/+1 Health from the plane once.

Looks like we're both on the same page, then. Only point of contention would be the bonus to Speed or Awareness for the Neutrals who already have those two stats equal to begin with. And I'm fairly certain that it wouldn't have been presented as a choice if the stage was going to affect it and make both happen regardless.
Alright, I got clarification from Sara over Skype.
[1:38:40 AM] Sara Cormier: The elemental bonus is part of the stage effect.
[1:39:19 AM] Shade: So he gets the +1 Awareness and THEN gets another +1 Speed thanks to the stage?
[1:39:27 AM] Sara Cormier: Exactly.
[1:39:34 AM] Shade: Or he gets +1 Awareness and nothing else because the stage has already activated?
[1:40:26 AM] Sara Cormier: Nope. The elemental bonus is part of the stage effect. Therefore they activate at the same time.

That... really makes no sense if the wording states that it's a choice between one stat or the other if that means the other stat will rise to match. If that was the intention it should have been stated that Neutrals with equal Speed and Awareness get +1 to EACH, not that the fighter can choose to add +1 to one OR the other.
Pirate Ship's bonus to Neutral elements. If their Speed is higher than Awareness, they get to have Awareness set equal to Speed instead of the other way around, and if their Speed and Awareness are the same they get to choose one to boost by 1. The big debate we were having was whether the stage's normal bonus would apply if the stage gives a Neutral with the same natural Speed and Awareness a point in one, with some saying it should and others saying it shouldn't. I was saying it shouldn't, as the bonus is presented as a choice, and applying the normal stage bonus would make it pointless to even have made a choice since you'd get both regardless.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9743909/ It's in the stage's description. I'll grant though that it should have been listed on this battle's submission itself, because this caused a good bit of confusion.
A major difference between the two combatants abilities is that while Yamato will affect Immelman's Power, Speed, and Awareness because of the arena. The stat drain will not occur when the simulacrum explodes.
Actually, I'm not 100% sure on this. The stage states that Speed becomes equal to Awareness. Immelmann's inkling will reduce Yamato's awareness, causing it to drop to 1. In reaction to this, the stage then drops Yamato's speed to 1 as well. So that stat drain will occur. Yamato's paralysis reduces Immelmann's power and speed, so Immelmann's speed would drop to 2, and then the stage would increase it to 3, since his awareness never changed. This is just my personal thoughts on how the stage and contestant abilities interact with one another.

Hate to say it, since I'm pulling for Yama myself, but you have the stage effect backwards. Speed is changed into Awareness, not the other way around. This means the Speed debuff from Yama's attack will do nothing, while Immelman will be reducing both Speed and Awareness for Yama.
Now regarding the bonus Immelmann gets from being Neutral here, I don't know if Yamato's Speed debuff could affect it if Immelmann chose to put his bonus point into Speed, but since he's faster anyway and this is an enclosed space that limits the use of Yama's ranged magic, he's more likely to put it to his Awareness anyway I think. :P

If the stats and abilities work the way I think they do in relation to the environment, I think chances are, Immelmann's ink shade will cause Yamato to fall off the stage considering that the stage is constantly rocking and the shade will reduce Yamato's awareness and effectively speed, because of the stage effect, to 1. Yamato's abilities will effectively reduce immelmann's damage output to 1 but not effect his speed since it is based off of awareness in this stage.
So it is really a matter of Will Yamato be able to hit Immelmann enough times before he falls off the rocking boat due to clumsyness and a lack of awareness?
My vote is that Immelmann will win out of this one by the skin of his teeth if he survives the beating.

Ah, it's good to be back! Time for new ridiculous titles... Bazinga. I won't do that... maybe.... no Bazingas on that part, I swear.
Under Normal Circumstances:
New tournament means new rules! Now the elements won't come into play in this matchup as Immelmann has elemental no weakness or strength and Yamato beats out water and light types, which Immelmann is neither of these things. Also new to this tournament is flinching, which depends on the characters power vs. the opponent's endurance. In this case, Immelmann has a higher chance of flinching than Yamato thanks to his low endurance. Luckily, that isn't much of a problem because that ink monster acts as a sponge, reducing damage on Immelmann onto him by 50% until it explodes, thereby reducing Yamato's stats to 3/2/1/2. However, even though that ink monster reforms instantly, he's still in danger of Yamato's improved Inazuma Kick, which now has the additional properties to do DoT, reducing Immelmann to 2/3/3/1
At Pirate Ship:
No stat changes here, but it isn't listed in the image, but I'll just add that the stage favors Neutral type characters. Yamato's awareness determines his speed here, but since Immelmann is a neutral type, his stats change based on his speed and awareness (the stats adhere to the higher of the two for neutral types, so even if Awarness is 1, if the Neutral type character's speed is higher, they'll raise anyway) Immelmann gets all the benefits of this stage, whose stats are already equal, which gives another benefit. Neutral types with equal awareness and speed will have either one be raised by 1, giving Immelmann either 2/4/3/1 or 2/3/4/1.
What Happens?
The only thing that Yamato's going to lower on Immelmann is Power, since speed is locked to awareness. Immelmann on the other hand will hurt Yamato even more, as he will lower both Awareness and Speed thanks to the stage properties. Yamato's high damage output means that Immelmann's ink monster will explode in very little time. However, Yamato has a ranged attack, which can keep Immelmann at bay, and Immelmann is prone to lots and lots of flinching, but that low awareness is still the issue.
Who am I Going For?
The stage is the deciding factor here. The stage properties, protection from full damage and lowering the stat that changes another, Yamato is going to have serious problems. Vote for Immelmann.

Hmmmn, well juding from skills and special abilities, I'd think Immelmann would have the upper hand here. A rocking boat would make it hard for Yamato to use his special ability. Just the same, Immelmann has a higher awareness as well. So, whereas Yamato might looks cooler (only in my opinion) I still think Immelmann would win ^^
