Personality: Soren is a quiet "pony" with an inquisitive mind and a motivation to discover new things and see just how they operate. He usually keeps to himself, a sort of anti-social pony that doesn't enjoy the company of any others especially rowdy or loud types. The reason for his dislike for being around others stems from the abuse he has endured earlier on in life. His appearance is something different, something unique and the majority of society pushes those away who are deemed "different" or "dangerous", fearing the unknown. Because of this he has avoided people ever since, not particularly in the mood to be treated rudely whether that's being called names, or getting physically beaten up.
Background: Soren lives his days out quietly in the Everfree Forest, spending his time studying creatures, potions, spells, and even the dark arts. Because of his inquisitive nature to understand the more dark side of magic and other things he decided that living in Ponyvill was probably not the best option. He strongly believes in "gray" areas of the world and calls other ponies ignorant for having such a black and white view of the world. The cause of wanting to understand both sides of the story and all of the world stems from the abuse of others, trying to understand why he was treated as such. Why are other ponies so afraid of the unknown and act violently? He also visits Zecora often because he feels she has a more open mind than most and shared the same problem of being treated as an outsider.
(Sorry I really don't have much of a developed story for him)
Ability: He has the ability to use magic just like any other unicorn and has a superb skill in finding just about anything on the subject of what is researched. He has an amazing memory and can point things out from the past that no one else has noticed, small things even like what the weather was like that day or what they were standing on at that particular moment. Other than the magic and smarts he has one other thing going for him and his cutie mark shows it. He's fast. He's not good at fighting, but as far as running he's quite good and can even give a Pegasus a run for their money.
