i see that purple under the eyes and lips a lot in old ladies. i am digging this painting though. please post more traditional paintings even if they are not furry.

Trouble is getting pictures since I don't own a camera I have to use my cell phone, which is questionable quality.

the secret to photographing any painting is indirect natural light. mornings are often the best for this but overcast days are also good. its usualy better to reshoot a picture than to try and alter the color digitally. blacks in oil paintings are especially troublesome. they are a fat color so they hold onto their sheen for longer and the sheen is much more apparent because its a sharp highlight over a dark color, thats why indirect light works best. you did a great job photographing it with a cell phone.

Yeah after painting is done I may go and photo graph everything, I'll see if I can get a better camera to get shots with. I don't think I have the best paintings ever but I should still probably document them.

definitely do. there are a lot of art pieces that i only have digital copies of any more. if you feel comfortable with it you should post it here. keep up the good work man

Man when you work with palette knife all you really can do is paint thick y'know??

I never could get the hang of impasto :( I certainly have an appreciation for it though!

It's kind of my favorite, brushes are honestly very difficult for me.
I can only do it because my professor had forced everyone to do a few paintings with only a palette knife.
A healthy experiment for everyone I think.

Agreed :) I have some old oil life paintings somewhere. I feel like I was more bold with my color choices in oil like you see here. It would be cool to see it translated to a digital medium :)
