Gather 'round, maties, because here's a tale of a meerkat who went from a low-life nothing surviving in the streets to First Mate of a gang of pirates under the command of  mochathepirate.

Here's the story...

He started as a lone meerkat who learned to survive for years with his wits and his ability to steal in the streets. His family died long ago, and has no one to turn to in time of need. He has quite a mind for creativity, as he has the means to avoid capture and the thoughts for innovative gear and weapons... but his lack of anything to make things besides with his bare hands kept him from exploring the possibilities. For him, it's the same drag of surviving to the next day.

One day, it began all the same until he saw a band of pirates walking down the street. He saw the captain carrying a treasure map... for what kind of treasure and for where, he did not know, but it must have been important to have been protected by pirates at her every side blocking the view from everyone else. So he figured... why not steal it? He is no treasure hunter, but it must be worth a pretty penny to someone else after he sells the map.

With his wit and his blade that he swiped from a dead pirate long ago, Alex followed them to their ship. Sneaking up the side of the ship, he made it on board undetected, making his way all the way to the Captain's quarters... there's the map! Right there in plain sight. He takes the map, but was quickly caught on the spot by the first mate!

After a quick strike to the face, Alex made his escape! The word spread quickly until it reached the captain's ears, and everyone was after Alex to get the map back at all costs! Alex made it hard to be caught, though, since his skills pay off to ward off the pirate gang that keep going after him. Swinging his way left to right, he has made his way to one of the masts of the ship, where the Captain has quickly caught up with him.

Alex has some skill with the sword, but it wasn't enough to contend with the Captain's fighting ability. He was quickly injured to the point where the blade was to his throat... He was not willing to go down that easily. Being an escape artist, he cut a piece of rope that allowed him to quickly make an escape, as he aims for the water...

But with a few extra snaps, the rope swing has him going another direction in life... literally and figuratively as he unexpectedly swings for another passing ship...

After crash landing, he escaped from one band of pirates and landed on another... It was Mocha's band of pirates that surrounded Alex as he lays there wounded, wondering what is next for him. Captain Mocha approaches as she begun to question him on how he got on the ship. He said nothing. Then Mocha noticed something on his belt... she takes it... it was a treasure map... and one that she knew belonged to the captain she knew! How did he get such a map from one of the most dangerous of pirates?!

He must have had some skill... or really dumb luck to get the map from someone like her! How could Mocha let such a talent go so easily?... She made an offer to let Alex join her team... He expected to have been killed on the spot... but what else does he have?

So he has found himself part of the crew, quickly making his way up the ranks from the bottom all the way to First Mate. He has found the means to make use of craft and blacksmith, dressing up in his own garb he has designed for the purpose of carrying more things he can steal, as well as forging a custom blade with a pistol mechanism. His skills improved in swordplay, knowing that someday he will face someone as dangerous the pirates he fought again. When the time comes, he can't allow himself to be in another near-death situation.

And here is where we are. A man who had nothing now is part of something new.
