"And here we see a prime example of the squeetah, Sciunonyx carolibatus, searching for his prey. He's a dangerous fellow if provoked, but is quite tame if left to his own devices. It is known for its unique ability to scratch artistic designs onto pulped wood. After this commercial break, we explore its intima*click*"
Seriously, I quite like the way you drew the muzzle; with the stripes, it's a nice blend of -- well, squirrel and cheetah. :)

Ha ha ha, nice report ^^ ^^
You should add that this was a prehistoric species, and at that time, its preys, nuts and other seeds of this kind, were not that easy to catch just like cupcakes (see
macroceli 's pics)... XD XD

Hehe :) Another great one David :) Squeetah XD OMFG :D Nice species :D I wish there really exist such squirrels... with orange fur and spots on it. They would look awesome :) Well I wish I could draw on paper like you :) My drawings with tablet are fine but on paper... not at all :) and one thing more... Would you mind uploading a few of your mecha pictures? or at least give a link to a place where they are... I love your details and I'd be glad if you showed some of your detailed mecha artworks :)
I can't imagine being the first person to ever come across one of those in the wild. "Aww, look at the adorable sqeetah! Such cute eyes, and... big... teeth? Hmm, its getting awfully close, maybe it wants me to pet it. After all, how could something so cute be dange-... OH GOD, MY ARM!!!"

Interesting cross-breed. I was pondering on animal cross-breeds, and also came to the realization that the only cross-breed I have online rarely or almost never occurs in nature also. I have a Lynx-domesticated cat cross-breed, and it's rare for those to happen, as usually the wildcat will prey on the domesticated cat and have it for a meal instead of befriending it. Usually the cats that are that lucky will either become feral, are outdoor cats, or are half-wild to begin with. The kittens are oftentimes half-wild like dog-wolf cross-breeds.
Anyways, it's very nicely done. I like how it looks neatly blended, like you could actually see yourself running into one in the wild. I used to think predator/prey cross-breeds are odd, until I realized that usually a Lynx will prey on domestic cats as food. It's unfortunate, because lots of outdoor cats are lost that way due to a cougar or other wild animal. I don't understand why animals have cannibalism, but that makes them just that much closer to humans, like in the case of the Donnor Party.

Cannibalism is the easier way to get food... And BTW, although they could interbreed, lynxes predating on cats is not really cannibalism as they are quite different species, a little like you'd say eating a chimpanzee would be cannibalism for us.
The only reason cannibalism is not MUCH common is that it's the best way to transmit some diseases that could not cross other interspecies barriers.
Thaaaankies for the comments ^^ ^^

But it's still sort of like eating your cousin if you eat a chimpanzee. Hominoids (pre-evolved humans) our are ancestor who derived from chimpanzees. Big cats are closely related to little cats, so it's a little like they're eating their cousin since they belong to the same genus.

Wow... a lot of comments...
I think though, that this poor creature would die if it ever came into existence. :( Combining a high metabolism creature that's already hyper and speedy with another like a cheetah would probably make them live too fast; their poor bodies would burn out.
Still, and awesome look and idea. :3
