Wow it's been a MONTH since I soapboxed about shit only I care about.
Gotta fix that. Can't be losing my rep on the streets.

What I hate about the phrase " you're just jealous" is that: 1. it makes an assumption of what the person is feeling and treats the person as if it's factual, as in, will always think any hostility from the person being called jealous will ALWAYS be jealous. 2. It's usually completely wrong and 3. People who use that usually have a bit of a god complex, they think whatever it is the person is mad about is purely because that person is not like them or does not have it, so instead of feeling bad about doing something or owning something maybe they shouldn't, they get a sense of power and greatness for having it, making them feel more above you and missing the point entirely .
You know what always pisses me off when ever someone says it about an artist or their work? "They have way too much time on their hands."
Because I'm sure the person saying just TOTALLY spends their time in more meaningful ways than creating passionate intricate peases of unique art.

I see this a lot everywhere, Youtube is the place where it's use is most rampant. I saw it literally thousands of times and only 3 were of actual things said out of actual jealousy.
What indignates me the most is, the self condescending meaning of this phrase: anything said negative about someone is absolutely irrelevant and should be ignored as any negative criticism is done out of spite jealousy of their superior [insert whatever the shit they think they are better at or have more that they most likely don't]. So instead of seeing their mistakes, they can't really believe that anything they do is wrong so if people don't like, is because they are too good at something and that's why they get hate.

Can we also get rid of the term "haters"? Which is more commonly used to mean "person who has genuine grievance which I do not care to address and will dismiss by downplaying their arguments and suggest they're just negatively opposed for the sake of being negatively opposed"?
I discovered the phrase "thought terminating cliche" recently and it perfectly sums up so many intellectually bankrupt internet catchphrases like this one.
I find myself using it all the time now as a simple shorthand that circumvents the need to provide a longer form argu- oh crap
