So... yeah. They revealed the new Mewtwo Forme today. Just. I... What?
Guys. No. Cutting off mewtwo's tail, strapping it to his head and attaching some easter basket handles, as well as painting his fingers and toes just... really doesn't do it for me.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?
WHAT IS MY LIFE!!

I personally don't mind it as much as I initially did xD
In a way it seems more aerodynamic, with the only downside of easier to grab hold of. But if this is the form Mewtwo changes into when a new movie trailer pops up on the 18th we might see some advantages to the new look.

Same reaction here.
No. Just no. The 'form' looks like a reject villain from DBZ and absolutely cannot hold up to the new form.
... but then, given how the recent dev team for Pokémon has consistently and endlessly disappointed me? I take it the same way as "Dante" from the Devil May Cry 'reboot'.
This design is laughable and should be seen with all the ridicule it deserves. Mewtwo is meant to be intimidating, powerful-looking. This? It looks lame, dorky, and just plain horrible. It also lose the Giegue reference, which was another nice touch with the original.
So no. Just no.

agrees* it looks fucking stupid, and I suspect we might get two vers of it, because this one is very girly, so we might get a male too... like latias and latios..
oh... arceus no.. please arceus ... D:
and I do also suspect this wont be the only... odd pokemon we will see in X and Y..
they should do a chair pokemon, it's a chair with eyes and mouth and it should be called charithnigy...

I'm sure it's not a forme change. They have hinted at this by saying that it is a "newly discovered pokémon" that is "not quite the same" and yet "it is suspected that it has some sort of connection by bearing a curious resemblance to the legendary Mewtwo."
This whole thing seems to me like Game Freak's wanted to say "Take that, audience!" and it is PURE GENIUS!

I can imagine Giovanni commissioning another Mew Clone....
"Okay boys *drunken burp* this is *hic* how we're gona do it... We make another Mew clone... but... put the tail on the head. Oh and the boobs on this thing? Yeah, we're going to make them vertical, no more side by side. And a big, hoop shaped handle on top of its head!"
"Sir, that... that sounds absolutely disgusting."
"Shut up! I'm the one paying your salary, and you're gona make it the way I envision!"

Hahaha! XD
And the way I thought it all occurred was by derpy scientists who thought it was a good idea to put the butt bones on the head :P

Yakko: The finger bones are numerous
Wakko: The upper arm's the humerus
Dot: The forearm's got two pieces
Called the radius and ulna
Yakko: Then the scapula and clavicle
Wakko: The maxilla and mandible
Dot: The nasal and the frontal bone
And cranium on top. Mwah!
Dr.Derp: And add for good measure
to that skull a caudal vertebrae
This is what Pokemon has become. A perfect, side-by-side comparison of classic versus modern design. In one respect, I'm glad they did this, if only so I can shove it in the face of anyone stupid enough to argue "but it's the same design team, they made 1000 pokemon designs before the first game and they're just releasing them 100 at a time." On the other hand, they've completely ruined my all-time favorite pokemon, and I'm bloody well pissed about it.
It's bound to be team plasma's attempt to clone mew after they attempted and we're ucsessful in creating genesect it's not going to be a mewtwo form, Nintendo and get freak aren't that stupid.
I just love the fan base going ape shut over I sighting the death of pokemon though, happen every gen.

My research has shown what this is.
Simply put? The new Pokémon dev team at GameFreaks thinks that Mewtwo is a mediocre Pokémon with a mediocre background story.
This is not a 'form', it's an outright replacement. They are attempting to replace old Mewtwo ; new appearance, new personality, new background, new powers... everything. Hence the tagline of the movie introducing this thing: "You do not know the true Mewtwo".
In short?
This is the equivalent of 'Dante' from the horrid Devil May Cry reboot. Replacing a beloved character with a respected history because the new dev team thinks it's not 'cool' enough.
Considering how beloved, effective, and great Mewtwo's design is as well as how it is a homage to both GameFreaks's and Nintendo's history (Mewtwo's appearance is based both off that of Pulse Man's villain and off of Giygas, from the Mother serie), replacing it and for such a flimsy reason is an insult. Original Mewtwo works specifically because he is tall, imposing, even borderline monstrous with his chest armor and back vein, really contrasting him with Mew, yet he also has Mew's curves, her gracefulness, which makes one realize that deep down he is connected to her. It's one of Pokémon's most successful designs and attached to one of the deepest characters in the franchise.
Frankly? It's obvious the new team doesn't know what it's doing.
And to those going on about in-game footage... I'd like to point out that GameFreaks has been consistently making questionable design changes to older Pokémon designs instead of properly updating them in an effort to making them worse next to the new designs, in order to mask that the new designs are truly inferior.
Just look at how tiny, unimpressive, borderline child-like classic Mewtwo look in the trailers and posters for the movie. This also apply to the games ; Mew has been given this horrid sprite where she look like she got a freakin' parrot beak in order to push for Shaymin as the replacement 'cute Pokémon mascot'. The Dreamworld artworks for older Pokémon are especially, startlingly horrible (with Mew's looking like some bad fan doodle, for example).,
So in short? No, just no.

Eh. To me, this one is just.. meh. I'm going to just ignore this the same way I do a lot of pokemon from every generation. I think they have lame designs with every new game, but I like a lot of the other new pokemon and such. In fact, I love the new legendary pokemon mascots for X and Y, and I love the designs for the new birds, Fennekin, Sylveon, and a lot of the others they've shown. So, while it's true that this new form of Mewtwo is pretty lame, it's something that you can just as easily ignore because it's something you actually have to go out of your way to get.
Then again, I'm an optimist when it comes to my pokemon. :3
