One of Schirm's virtues is the way he can devastatingly deflate a subject. In this case Art. Or maybe the audience for art... The surfer attire makes me think Schirm might have drawn this for Ken Fletcher's (Heywulf's) Spontoon website.
LATE BREAKING NEWS While the xerox I had of this from Schirm was b&w, apparently the original was partly in colour. It appears that way on Heywulf's Spontoon site, and Ken supplied me with the colour file. However, he warned that the 16 colour compresion he put on the file gave it an overall reddish tint. That was okay, I said, I could easily re-adjust it to pure black without affecting the red. In fact, I was able to boost the red, so this is in all probability a better image than is currentl on Spontoon. Naturally I sent Ken the tweaked image for his use, just as I've reposted it here.

Hey, Taral.
Yea! This picture is also archived at the Spontoon Island website.
Inspired by you & Karno posting Schirm's art here on FA, I re-scanned it in color a few days ago: The original had the 'painting' in red-texture tones. It looks cool. Would you like for me to send you a graphic file for you to re-post? One of the scans is 800 pixels wide, but a reasonable Kb size.
Thanks for posting these batches of Marc's art. Hopefully he will be entering the internet soon.
Best regards
Ken Fletcher

Who? Me? Of course you knew I was here. You're watching me.
Or do you mean you didn't know Schirm was here. Actually, Schirm isn't here. I'm just putting some of his illos in my scraps page. Since I haven't been able to reach him by phone, he doesn't even know it yet. (But Kano posted a few of Schirm's things, so I figured how far wrong can I go?)

Send me the colour by all means, even if I don't post it I want a copy. 800 kb isnt that much, though most of the pics I posted of Schirms were only 6 or 700. I figured they should be good enough to view at a reasonable size, but maybe not so great they'd print out well.
Schirm getting aboard the internet... *sigh*
I recall telling someone that Schirm has repeated ignored opportunities to be dragged into the computer age, so I won't go into it again. But I'd have to say that the idea would be almost as astonishing as discovering Schirm had become a Buddhist monk or applied for astronaut training school He's much too mired in an era several decades ago.
