THIS IS SO CUTE ALL BABY KILLDEER NEED LITTLE BITTY GOGGLES OMG. I really like the small textural detail on the wings and tail. Simple but very effective at making it look soft and feathery.
At my family's business out in Texas we get these little guys in our storage bay every so often and I have to get them out. Gets too hot in there when the doors are closed. These little guys move FAST at such a young age. I love their gangly legs and cute little faces.

Eee! Yay! That's the effect I was going for for his floofage. Makes me happy I got it across well! Where at in Texas as I'm in Texas too. :D

Your style is perfect for it, too. That super pleasing 'detailed-cartoony' kind of thing you have going on. The business is in the DFW area but my family lives out east of Dallas in Rockwall. It's a super nice town, I'm only there part of the year though as I'm currently going to school in Orange County. :) What part are you from?
I love the location of the business though because it has this super huge fenced in area where killdeer nest every year. We end up with SO MANY babies running around I can't cope with how adorable they are.

A couple of years ago, we had a few hatch at the edge of our yard. They're neat little birds in the sense that they're gone within a day after hatching. :>
