The fur on the face was removed so that the vision holes could be enlarged. The vision previously was very poor. As for the drybrushing that is certainly a mater of opinion. The owner of the character depicts him as very stylized http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9888684/ and asked the the shading and such to be as similar to the drawn representation as possible. This sort of painting normally translates a bit better when the fur is not neon. :)
There were some big "wearability" issues that need to be addressed. The way the hood was designed it could not be pout on without help. The vision was also non-existent. The wearer had to pretty much look out the mouth and that's not how this type of head was meant to be used. They had also purchased new eyes that they liked better then the ones originally used. ^^
I am not in the habit of publicly slandering other artists regardless of my opinion of their work. I will agree that there are aspects that she has to improve on but that being said she still a fairly new builder with plenty of room to grow. Some of the issues with this head, being one of her earlier suits, have been addressed in her more recent works. Those that haven't will be learned as she builds more suits. Other issues were in fact problems with the head base itself which was not made by OED.
OED made something adorable before with my silly silly base.
But this refurb is really gorgeous :) The nose detailing is so much more amazing. and muzzle shaping is way more striking!
The eyes are really lovely. Hand painting those style didn't work out so well for me in the first place. And the bad vision is definitely my bad.
All in all having all of the artists that have worked on this mask so far is pretty neat :)

Thank you very much!
I love the eyes Yeep made ^^
The vision was bad yes but something that was fairly easy to improve on. I really enjoyed working on this head and I do think that every artist who has had a hand in working on this suit, while yes there were some things that needed to be changed, has had something good to add to it and has contributed to it greatly as a whole.

As for the back of the head, it is one solid piece. I make it larger enough that the wearer can Pull it over their head without having to use a zipper or velcro. This one has a similar hood that you can see the back of :http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10005254/ . As far as if I wanted a supper form fitting neck I would go for and invisible brand zipper. They tend not to catch too much fur and hide nicely. I use them on my bodies a lot. Ill actually put on the zipper then undo it and cut the fur so that there is enough material to hide the seam properly. :)
