Someone asked me about a closeup via IM and here it is.
Note: the weird texture of the back wall was done with salt. Get the area sloppy wet, then add lumps of salt. let it dry then scrape it off. Viola.
Everything else is brush stroke, layering of paint, of addition of pen for some really sharp lines.
