I read in a textbook once that possums aren't supposed to be able to hang by their tails.

Then I saw in a photo book on animals, a possum hanging quite unconcernedly by its tail.

Apparently possums do not read books written about them.

For as far as I know, only the juvenile ones do it because the adults are too heavy. The picture you saw was probably of a baby!

I don't think it was quite brand-new to the world, but it was definitely a young one. Mom had a firm grip on the tree with all four paws - she had to, with three little ones on her back - but the other young ones were all over the place. ^_^

May I ask how large this is in real life, for reference?

It's an A4 sheet (European version of letter size). I should mention though that I normally draw a lot smaller, but for casual trades at a party, con or restaurant I draw faster and with looser, bigger brushstrokes.

Ok, thank you very much. I'm just trying to gauge how small others work. (especially those I look up to) Because I draw very small most of the time.

Everybody works differently! I know people who draw super tiny, and others us big sheets. (To name two examples; Louve for the first and Chad Krueger for the second.) There is no 'right way to do it, you'll see over time what comes natural. To give you an idea though: Most old fashioned comic book artists draw and ink at twice the size of the printed comic. So an A4 size page would be drawn on an A3 sheet (or two A4 sheets).

Hmmm, thanks for the information! I notice I have trouble with bleeding my marker color across my linework when I work too small. though I think that has to do with how shaky my hands get.
